Current Events Part 2

#threesomethursday

If you've read this post last year, then you're not stranger to the fact that my style is sometimes inspired by recent happenings around the world.  This is a part 2 blog that covered events for the last three months. :P

1.  MET-inspired work outfit (May6). Read the full post here. :)

2. Copa La Mundo casual Friday outfit (Jun13). It's a baseball dress I know, but atleast it's sporty! :P  I'm not really a big fan but I do remember rooting for Germany because of a close friend.  And they won!  What a coincidence. Haha!

3. Red, Blue and White for July 4th! Too bad I didn't have anything star-print! But dots and stripes it is! ;)

Hope you enjoyed today's threesome post! :)

Ways to Wear: Mint Pencil Skirt

#threesomethursday

My second #threesome is all about my favorite skirt - pencil type in mint color. :)

And for this last gallery, check out a detailed post about the inspiration behind here. :)

The Lace Pencil Skirt

#threesomethursday

One of my favorites - a lace skirt I got from Topshop. 50% off! :))

A.  Toned Down with a Tee.  My brother's V-neck tee to be specific.  One of those days where I just felt like toning it down.  Accessorized with this rosette necklace I got from Bangkok.

B.  Color-blocked with a scalloped top.  IT's one of my favorite color-blocking top! Added a cobalt blazer slung over the shoulders for some oomph! ;)

C.  Super formal with Lace on Lace. I don' know but for me it's important to start a working Monday right.  So I kind of made an effort to finally wear this combo I thought about months ago.  This is actually a lace dress from Mango (see Instagram: cassey_cakes).  I was satisfied with the effect. :)

Tucked-in!

#threesomethursday

One day I woke up and realized that a blush vest need not be tucked out all the time and came up with three styles to prove it.... :P

Gray Booties!

#threesomethursday

Purchased from a VNC sale in KL 3 years ago, it's amazing how I still remembered to use these booties sometime last year.  Gosh!  :)))

First look:  Paired with plaids

2nd look:  Sweatshirt and patent skirt combo

Third look: With a shift dress!

A candid shot! :)

Mini Flute

#threesomethursday

It was quite a challenge mixing up this skirt what with its unusual color but I found it better matched with printed tops. Here's a compilation of how I worked on this mini flute skirt I got on sale from Topshop. :)

Snakeskin

Floral

Polka Dots

Have a fab weekend! :)

One Dress, Three Coats!

#threesomethursday

By now you should have known how I'm such a dressy person.  I love being in dresses.  But sometimes the challenge with getting dresses instead of separate pieces is versatility.  I truly subscribe to the notion that before purchasing something one should ask herself, "Do I have three items to pair it with?"  And that is the very purpose of my thursday hashtag posts.  So ladies and gents for today, I present to you this Dorothy Perkins shift dress in green and how I layered it with different coats. :)

Patterns!!!

#threesomethursday

Okay.  So there are times when I’d be theme-dressing for work for straight 5 days as I’ve done many times before in the past.  But there are times when I wouldn’t notice that I stuck to some distinct patterns for one week.  Granted, I plan my outfits in advance but I only noticed that I made a stripes-theme at work two weeks ago when I was making the collage for my Facebook album. Anyhoo, it is just great since it makes for a good #threesomethursday post.  Hehe. :P

Please visit my other blog here. J

The H&M stripes blazer.  This one took months before I first used it from a purchase in Singapore last March.  Paired it here with a Dorothy Perkins dress.

The cropped top.  This is a favorite from one of my cheap purchases in Greenhills last month. Of course cropped tops must always be paired with high-waist trousers.  Haha!

The PrP candy dress.  Can be qualified for last week’s Chucks post but reserved it better here. ;-)

Borrowed from the Boys

#threesomethursday

"Despite her claim to an overflowing wardrobe, she had to go and borrow her brother's vest today."

That's how I captioned this post sometime early this year.  For today, I'm collating my "borrowed-from-my-brother" #ootd posts.  Haha!

The vest from Lem below perfectly matches that Freeway wide-legged trousers of mine.  In the picture it fits well but actually it's a bit loose but I like how I paired it. :)

Zara white tank top and bag; Cotton On wedges; MNG aviators

I really need a plain gray shirt badly.  But I can't find something that has that loose feel.  Luckily for me, I found this Topman shirt in his wardrobe.  I love the comments from some guys in my FB.  One of them mentioned about wanting him to see me like this "if ever" we're going out on a date.  Wow, some guys really like simple outfits for women.  Maybe it's the reason why I am still single.  LOL!

MNG boyfriend jeans; MNG aviators; Fossil men's watch and M&S snakeprint shoes

This top is something I've been borrowing from Lem since forever!  I've used it quite a lot of time it already qualifies for a separate #threesomethursday post.  Haha!  I like the chambray print and again the loose factor.  This is taken in Ayala Triangle while doing a field work pre- (and there's that word again) birthday weekend! LOL! :D

Topshop skirt;  Dorothy Perkins belt; Luxury Mall booties and Charlie sunnies
I hope you enjoyed this borrowed from the boys post.  Excited for the Rihanna concert tonight! =)

Eclectic!

#threesomethursday

I love to mix-and-match pieces... It just might be the best way to make good use of my wardrobe :P

#1 Of floral print and pleats with tribal accessories (a Bangkok outfit layered with a trench coat for work).  Unfortunately the AC was unexpectedly down that day and I had to make do with a handy pink scarf. (And had to work in a coffee shop in the afternoon lol!)

Diva necklace; Dorothy Perkins floral dress (used as top);
Topshop pleats; Maldita mustard trench coat
#2 Of polka dots and laced skirts with rosette necklace

Rosette necklace from Bangkok; Dorothy Perkins polka dot peplum top
Topshop lace pencil skirt and Dorothy Perkins black pumps
#3 Of stripes and leopard print with tribal accessories

Diva necklace; Plains n' Prints dress; Mango leopard belt;
Marks 'n Spencer nude pumps; Aldo sunnies
