SG 2014

#traveltuesday

I think this was my 14th trip. I can't be sure because verifying it is just so taxing right now. Lol! I had some other plans for this trip but since it didn't push through, let's just call this a foodtrip weekend. :)

A. Observing the lantern festival and eating durian mooncake for the first time.

B. A self-reward after doing some personal shopper duties for the brother. Ugh! They sold me this at SGD 1.20. I didn't know they hike up the price in Orchard. Yes, I'm complaining the 0.20 increase. Hahaha!

C. Nothing really captures that good old hawker-style noodles. SPICES!!!

D. The bday noodles??? Lol!

E. Even the milk teas here are not the same there. Why? :P

And just this morning I discovered some peanut pancakes that are again worth-coming back for. Haha! Well, the chili crab would have to be scheduled some other time.

In Between Vacays

#threesomethursday

I was also busy exploring some restaus in the metro. :)

@Queen of Bollywood.  One advantage of being appointed as company teambuilding organizers is you get to personally decide on the venue.  And this place was just the right satisfy my Indian cravings.  Haha!!!  Turns out the foreign bosses like Indian cuisines too.  Perfect! :D

Sipping mojitos with my closest friend/ colleague Leq. :P

Dressing up appropriately (???) for the after work dinner.  I mean tutu skirts are for parties right??? HAHAHA!!!

@Chef's Lab.  Picking a different venue for a regular dinner before holiday with co-workers.

We had a voucher for their scrumptious Crispy Pata which is good for three and mixed it with their sinigang for some sour soup on the side. ;-)

We also tried their cocktails.  This is called love potion and is served in test tubes!  Nice.  Hehe. :P  I had hoped that the potion was effective for the three single drinkers.  Hahaha!!

A very good night landscape shot of Burgos Circle at the Fort using Iphone 5. :)

@Shi Lin.  For new restaus to try out in the Metro, I always look out for my ex sales manager's posts.  Haha!!!  And when his frequent check-ins points to this restau, I know that I should try it. :P

Good thing, Shi Lin is present in one of the closest malls in our area - Lucky Chinatown Mall in Binondo.  Treated the folks to some noodles and dumplings during the Labor Day holiday.

Love their Xiao Long Bao and the red bean dumplings for desserts.

I can't stress enough how much I love this mall! Haha!!  It has the right amount of class in it and it is so accessible for me. ;-)

Lugang Cafe

Very classy.  I'm so impressed with the interiors of this new Taiwanese restaurant in Connecticut, Greenhills.
Lugang Cafe interior
Its colossal door quite gives you an impression that you're entering an empire; the high ceiling is decorated with elegant chandeliers and the very posh purple velvet seats all screams "Sosyal" to me.  Haha!!  I was kidding Mely right after we parked (plus points for having a dedicated parking lot across the street) that we can just wash the dishes if the food is too pricey. :P
Mely and me after gym
For starters we ordered the Xiao Long Bao ('twas my first time to try), some Pineapple with Shrimp stuffed Crullers, Chicken Rice and Tapioca Milk Tea.  Xiao Long Bao is now my favorite, haha!  I'd say the ambiance can be intimidating but the price is just right for the quality of the food.  ;)
It was already late when we arrived (after gym around 9PM) so I wasn't able to explore the whole place.  I saw that the guests are given the chance to observe how the Xiao Long Baos are prepared.  Plus after studying their menus, there are still a lot of delicious drinks, dishes and desserts to try so I must definitely come back here. :D

Wearing my "tinker bell" dress from M&S. :P

Sweet Bella

It's a charming dessert bar located at Burgos Circle at the Fort which specializes at chocolates and strawberries, Sweet Bella was introduced to me by my friend Randy when he learned how much I loovvvvvveeeee cakes. :P

A kikay like me wouldn't find it hard to like this place.  You'll be instantly drawn to its pink couches.

So what to expect on the cakes?

Honestly, I didn't wanna ruin all that beautifully and lavishly designed "Chocolata" with a signature chocolate butterfly (very Mariah, haha!) but I have to understand why this was included in Manila's Top 10 desserts. ;)

Randy on the other hand tried their strawberry cheesecake but I wasn't able to taste it.  Hindi kasi kami close.  Hahaha!!

Anyway he's supposed to give me a pasalubong from Vietnam but he wasn't able to bring it. So, he's gonna treat me again next time.  Hahaha!  Joke lang.  Thanks for the treat Randy. ;)

OMA :)

My favorite Japanese restau now: Omakase! :)

Basically all their food are yummy!!! Hahaha!!  And the price is quite reasonable too! ;-)

Aspara-beef roll; Salmon sashimi; Mt Fuji Roll

Gosh, if only I could have all their rolls! LOLs!  Recently, I'm having problems sleeping and I read from a Yahoo post that Miso/ Egg/ Milk/ Almonds etc can help solve this so aside from the above, we both ordered Miso soup.  Hope it helps. #Cyberchondria  Hahaha!!

Mely and Me :)
♫♪ It's Mely and me tonight.  ♫♪  Ayy, penny pala yun!  Hahaha!!  Meet Mely one of my now closest friends in the gym during Retro. :)

I'm thankful that despite the "issue" (read My 10 of 2010 Item #1 if you're not aware), there are still people whom I can trust in the gym.  Some friends may have gone but it's true - When God closes a door, somewhere he opens a window.  Wala lang, that's the nearest quote I can think of.  Hahaha!!  Haven't you noticed I've been producing, err I mean "quoting" a lot recently.  Blame it on twitter.  LOLs!
