Gion is known as the Geisha district in Japan. Though most references would say that this place comes alive at night, a daytime walk is just as lovely as it gives you a glimpse of the old Japan with its traditional wooden buildings, tea houses and exclusive Japanese restaurants. Night time is the best time too to catch geishas/ geikos though we were lucky to catch two ladies in a hurry to a restaurant (but no pic, sad). They're just so elusive. :P
