Wk 30 in Orti

Last week's postings were a little bit behind the sked because it was quite a busy week for me.  My newly appointed manager was here for customer meetings/ conferences, evaluation, training etc that I was peeled off from my cozy workplace at home and had to be at Ortigas area almost every day.

It had been raining almost everyday that week and so the appropriate time to do layering and don trench coats! Yays!

I missed wearing that combo on the left, it had been years since I last paired that white dress and coat.  Mirror shot on the right was taken at Fitness First in Wynsum Bldg.  It was my first time there and everybody was right about it having a nice view of Ortigas at night.  Only I came in a bad weather and somehow I can't make out of the scene through misty glass windows of the building's 35th floor! :-|  Will try to be back there again and take some photos.  Of the view.  LOL!

Part of the job of course is to be a gracious host to a visitor especially since it's his first time in PH.  Banana Leaf is always my safe choice for Asian visitors but when he told me he also likes Japanese food, my other colleague took us to this cozy restau at the 3rd floor of Podium with zen-like architecture and dimly-lit dining area - Yaku.

My boss is Indonesian.  During dinner where there's a piece of prawn tempura left while waiting for the bill, it slipped from my mind I accidentally blurted out to my other Filipino colleague in Tagalog "Sayang oh!"   To my surprise, my boss understood it and he said it meant the same in Bahasa Indonesia.  I find this discovery very interesting because the word "Sayang" is one of those Tagalog words that doesn't have a direct English translation right? Hehe.  I don't know, I found it amazing that I just simply had to share.  LOL!

Well I already established even before that there are really quite a lot of similarities between the two languages, they have words that mean quite the same for example in other dialects here (e.g makan or mangan means to eat).  During the course of dinner I was able to share also some restaurant jokes that my boss found funny, LOL!  Credit where its due, I got those from watching too much of Vice Ganda in TV, haha!!  But my point is, I shared it because I know how the Indonesians are like.  They have the same humor like us.  During company meetings in SG, my Indo colleagues are always the ones who make me crack up the most!  LOL!  Maybe because, loko-loko din sila like us.  Or maybe it was just peculiar to my colleagues alone? LOL!  Even my boss' first impression when he first got here, "Same as Jakarta" is exactly me and my girls' sentiments when we were there last year. :P

Anyway, last mirror shot for last week.  Of denims and wedges.

Top: DP; Jeans: MNG; Shoes: Zara; Bag: CnK

And that's what you call a tungtong-kamay pose, the frustrated model in me doing that.  LOL! SBT!

Yeah most of the time. We do get about 2 or 3 months of lots and lots of rain. Although this year, the rainy season was longer.

And yes it's been to long...
