My Favorite Necklace

We interrupt your regular KK travelogue reading schedule to give way for some very important announcement. Haha!

Translation: KC has been so lazy to write the 3rd installment of her KK Adventure. LOL! Come on guys cut me some slack! I'm gonna be in SG late next week, so you understand the work cramming right? ;) Besides don't pull that face, I've got something to show ya! Weeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!

Isn't she - what's your word again Ate? - "overly and utterly stunning"? Yes, she is! Hahaha!! The pic I sent Anj this morning in her email isn't so flattering at all. I was so excited (and I just can't hide it) that she has to SEE. IT. RIGHT. AWAY! Haha! I even teased her a bit the night I bought it that she has something to see. I knew she'll like it! And her reaction didn't disappoint as I can't count the number of exclamation points in her email response! Hahaha!!! I hope pic above did justice to the neckpiece!! May electric fan effect pa yan! Hahaha!!! Sooo sooo sooo loving it!!!

When I paired it in my cobalt blue Topshop tube, I instantly thought of requesting Wil to come back home and do a photoshoot "wearing this, (alright), wearing only this!!" Hahaha!! Titanic daw?? Joke lang. I mean pictorial with any dress that matches the chunky necklace! Hahaha!!

Obviously, I'm feeling so arte and feeling model that I took a gazillion of shots and I am loving each and every pixel of them thank you very much. Haha! So no need for Wil to go back home. Besides, he just gave me a WONDERFUL NEWS today!

HE IS GOING TO GIVE ME HIS NIKON D80!!!!! YIPEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!

Dramatic mode: Wil, what have I done to deserve this?? You know I'm just your gorgeous couz who's always there to help ya? I mean, you know that help is nothing...... But then again, if you insist........

HAHAHA!!! 2-3 WEEKS!!! I CAN'T WAIT!! I CAN'T WAIT!! Hahaha!!! You call me your hero?? I call you my fairy godfather!!! Hahaha!! Is there such a thing??? :P

Ohmigosh I'm so giddy today! Ecstatic even! The necklace, the camera, the long weekend, 1 day work next week, SG training, Retro marathon later punctuating my Friday.........H.A.P.P.Y!!! Not even the news of upcoming typhoon this weekend can ruin my day! =)

KK Adv2: Mall Hops

Friday morning after my early swim (I’m not really going to pass up on this huh?), I returned to our room just a floor above the condo’s recreation hall and found a “darling” little message in my phone. WORK! Aargh! It made me feel a bit nervous coz I wasn’t able to connect last night to the corporate email so I’m not sure what’s going on (although I have the slightest hint). I’m not so sure as to why the VPN wasn’t working. I know I’m officially on a holiday but you can’t just turn the work-concern switch off just like that. Nope. Especially not in my case.
Nevertheless I tried it again this morning and the situation is still the same. =( So after chatting up and transferring some files via Skype I was at the phone talking up to the receptionist about some of the interesting places I found in my “research” last night. I found out that although the condo may be geographically challenged it also has quite a redeeming feature by providing shuttle services to the 3 nearest plaza malls. I looked it up on the brochure I got from the KKIA and they were included in the “Shopping” brochure.

Around 11:40 AM, we were setting foot into the nearest plaza from the hotel. I knew it! I knew it the moment I stepped into that hideous plaza. I was mostly certain that I wouldn’t bag anything from it. I wasn’t looking for anything high-end. We are all hoping we could find something Mong Kok- or Chinatown-like with bazaars all over and you could haggle. But it’s far from what we are expecting.

Wil said the items are “fashionable” but I don’t see it as such from my standpoint. More or less the items could be seen in Divisoria and 168. Not that I don’t buy from there but I think he was referring to those Korean/ Chinese style of dressing, which I am so done with. In fairness I found a leopard scarf in there the precise print of which matches my flats but for a price that could be the same as in Dorothy Perkins'. Not worth it. I wasn’t sure if I was going to haggle coz I believe that I have enough leopard for a one time thingy. I don't predict they would stay long enough in the trend. Do you??

As boring as it may be, I remembered that I’m not alone although I’m so used to shopping on my own I had to slown down my usual brisk walks. Besides, the area of interest isn’t mine but my Mama & Tita’s pleasure and I believe I did well on the patience department when they both try to check out each and every stalls in the said plaza.

So off we went walking to the next mall and then the next ( a good ten minute walk from each). I’m just going to cut this short by saying that it was JUST. DEPLORABLE. LOL! Each mall offers the same items. Not even the Center Point (the only one with Vincci) gave me thrills on seeing the shoes. There’s not even an interesting pair in there. So sad. I even fell asleep while waiting for them on a bench near the cinema house. Can you believe it?? Hahaha!! But then again, what was I expecting? We are in Kota Kinabalu, a mountainous city in East MY facing the South China Sea. It's like what to expect say when I'm in Mindanao right or something like that. Surprisingly, Tita was able to buy a lot coz she’s got lots of people to give out gifts to. Around 530 PM, exhausted from all the walking, we hunted for a different venue for dinner: La Manila CafĂ© which as weird as it may sound serves Chinese delicacies. LOL!

So okay most of the items you'll see in the malls: THIS!

My brother joked we have the same nose. The BASTARD! Haha!
while crossing a street, haha!!

kangkong & mee go reng??

prawn mee soup (i like it spicy!!!)

There's no question, KK is just like Phils. The seaside ala Roxas Boulevard, the malls which could look like those in Makati sans their content of course (:p), etc. And for some fleeting moments I was happy being on the other side of the camera for once. Fleeting lang! Haha!

Anyway, I had enough of the malls and figured there has got to be something up for the next and thankfully, tour package saves the day!!!

Or maybe it did not. :

KK Adv 1: Arrival

My, my. If ever you’re going on a trip with me next time, please remind me not to do the hotel booking coz I suck on it big time! Haha! The place we’re currently staying at is a condotel type. It can accommodate about 6-7 people and I really thought this would be a lot cheaper than having a family room or rent two rooms in other hotel. Besides, my brother is cheapskating on the hotel since I asked him to shoulder the expense. So yeah, it’s one of the reasons why I asked him to tag along. Hahaha!! To help out with the expenses since I already paid for Mama & Tita’s airfares. Haha!! Another thing is to have someone to take me photos since I can hardly rely on Mama & Tita to do that. Because like they always say, "Daig pa sila ni Lola Techie!" Haha! And oh did I mention this is a first family trip abroad?? So glad I was able to make it happen, although Lem and Papsy didn't come along.

Tatuts, kuya & Mama

feeling sexy back! LOL!

So okay back to the hotel, you know my requirements are just simple. A decent lodging with swimming pool and wi-fi provided without compromising our safety of course. And when I found this one, which is about 5 minutes longer from where Wil stayed at last month (my point of comparison), I thought it’s not that really far. I even looked at it on the map!! Geese, I’m really poor when it comes to bearings! :P Btw, since I mentioned him. Please be informed that I DID this booking first. I only informed him of this place when he was in Manila and that’s when he decided to come too. My point is, I didn’t copy him! LOL!

Actually, the room isn’t disappointing - typical condo type with 3 rooms and with kitchen provided. Since this didn’t include breakfast, for the first night we headed to 1Borneo (the mall referred to us by the receptionist), had dinner at Fish & Co with their yummy seafood platter then did some grocery shopping for breakfasts in the supermarket. Now for budget shopping, there’s no question that you can always count on my mother on it. And up to the millionth time, I wonder if I really came out from her. WAHAHA!!!

seafood platter

Since I really didn’t have any itinerary and thought we’ll just figure it out when we get here (wrong move!), we did our shopping the very next day. Whoa! Someone’s very eager to get her hands on some goodies – and that’s my dear Tita! Haha! Well I’ve been to Melaka before and back then we had a very limited time on shopping. Prior to this trip, I receive really good feedbacks and it did quite “upped the ante” so to speak.

But I think I am set for the biggest disappointment in my life.

(tbc...)

view outside the hotel:

funny I'll let you in on a secret. :P

Although I believe I already mentioned it in my Korea travelogue. Okay, I know hotels are supposed to guarantee safety and security and everything but I can't help it when I'm in hotels abroad to secure myself by putting something behind the doors. In my case, it usually is the ironing stand and my one hell of a cavan of trolley. Haha!! And when I saw this one night before I slept, I knew my mother did it. I just knew it when I remember her asking me once if I wasn't afraid sleeping alone in my hotel rooms abroad. Haha!! Now I know I really came out from her. :P Paranoid on safety! LOL!

Tinker Bellazer :P

I once saved this photo sometime last year because it's just SUPER CUTE to dress up like her once in your life. ^^

And the closest dress I have or actually it just reminds me is this, underneath a an "imaginary" bf's (wahaha!) blazer:

Hehe. I love the fringes. ^^

I was googling images a while ago and I was surprised to see Selena Gomez play the role of Tinker Bell. I've been really meaning to put her into this blog because I SUPER SUPER ADORE this girl! I SOOOO want her for a younger sissy. ^^ Actually her face reminds me of my younger cousin in my father's side. Funny coz they have the same name also. I've never seen any of her TV shows or what, only read some news and watched some videos she recorded for her fans (sooo cute!). She was recently chosen as UNICEF's ambassador you know? I love her!

She's the cutest Tinker Bell I've ever seen. ^^

Okay back to packing now.......

Mix Mix

Ei guys, these are just some random stuffs I wanna share. :)

#1. Lem's guesting in Art Angel. Hahaha!!! In real life, I know my brother has a way with kids. I often see our nephews and nieces soften up to him, but I'm not sure if he'd appeal to the audiences specially working on some art stuffs. Hahaha!! Let's check it out this weekend when it airs. But then, I'll be out of the country so can you please just feedback for me?? Pretty please?? Haha!

Before he left for the shoot, we were "baby-talking" (okay, I know this is another case of TMI and he might kill me if this was being broadcast, hehe, but we sometimes talk like that and thankfully I learned that it's not only us but Joy does it too with her little bro ;) about him wearing the same top for a previously blogged show but he was already running late for the taping. :D
Oh em gee. I can't believe I'm plugging the rival station. LOL!

#2 Friday. Well, I was seated in the train along Edsa when I saw this batchmate of mine board the same train from the other door and she was too far for me to wave and say hi. I hoped that she would somehow drop off in the same station as I was going for a customer visit and thankfully she did. So I waited for her before taking the escalator and we talked for some minutes on the way out. Because she was headed to another place, before parting I told her I'll look her up in Facebook. The addict that I am! LOL!

On the way to the customer's office, I had a flash bulb moment. I realized that she and this friend of mine will make a really good couple. (Geese, I didn't know why I was such in a Cupid mode.) But the idea is just too exciting, I was zinging all over. Already, I imagine myself composing this email to our yahoogroup. Telling him about how their profession are the same. Perhaps cajoling him that both of them are so smart and her reserved personality is just what he looks for in a girl. I was firmly resolved.

Since it was already late when I got home that day (Fame movie), I intended to compose the mail on the next. Unfortunately when I checked my inbox, there's something wrong with the header. She (the batchmate of mine) beat me to it. She already added me as a friend and there's an additional information right after her original surname. Huh? I clicked on her profile and sure enough, there's a picture of a couple staring right back at me.

Naturally, I was shell-shocked but there's another powerful feeling taking over me. I HATE MYSELF. This classmate of mine is the silent and reserved type. She also belongs to the top graduating students of our batch. How can I be so bloody obtuse to conclude that just because she's also smart makes her lovelife as ZERO and BORING like mine?? "Geese KC, just because she's also a smart girl makes her lovelife equally pathetic like yours!!!" - I wasn't able to stop that thought. Gosh I was so ashamed of myself for thinking that way. :( "And that guy friend of yours has probably a very colorful lovelife that you're not very well aware of!!!!!" - That voice doesn't wanna shut up. :( I know that my plan didn't materialize but I feel like a child being scolded. Howell, I'll be careful with my thoughts next time. *sniff*

#3 Red. I'm in LOVE. - with my nail polish. :D My aunt's friend in Canada sent her a coat in this shade. It's my first time to do a deep red.

I once read that a red nail polish is good for some secretarial jobs - you know those that involves a lot of typing because that book was published years ago when computers are not yet common. LOL! Still I took a photo set against my keyboard as a background and uploaded it in my FB. Hehe.

And this is me again, wishing that my lifestyle is enough to maintain that color for the week. Coz you know, there are things to do like laundry (yep, I do my own :) and food that I like eating without the spoon and fork like the very yummy dinner last night. ^^ Or even if say, I avoid those things for a week, I truly believe that I cannot maintain any particular color on the nails coz as it is, mere 20 hours (didn't even last for a whole day!!!!) after the manicure and I noticed that the coats for some were already chipped. XD I believe it has something to do with how brusque I act at times and therefore I conclude, I'm not that ladylike to maintain this aspect of girliness. Though I haven't really taken it off, so glad to have it in photo in all its bloody seductive glory. LOL!

#4 Princess. I don't I have princess-like fantasies when I was young. It might be that I was pretty much realistic when I was little. But dressing up as such won't hurt when you're in this dress. SUPER LOVES!!!!!

(photo courtesy of sea of shoes)

I showed the dress to the Cathy and when she unflinchingly said she'll have it copied, it ought to be clear that her visions of being a princess when she was young was way way vivid than mine. Hahaha!! But of course she was brought up as such! :) Btw, you can click on abovementioned url for high res shots of the dress. Way to appreciate it better! ;)

But then again if a genie appears and asks me for ONE princess-like related wish, I'd rather ask for her kind of love story than having her dress! Hahaha!! Just saying. :P

#5 Ding, ding ding. I remembered someone today. Cathy reminded me of a separate occasion sometime this month last year and it was the last time that I mentioned here "I met someone." I may not be particular in things you see but my point is, I don't hide things here just because of the fear that announcing might jinx things. I don't believe in such. (Oh yeah you don't? Just look at your situation today. - inner voice strikes again!) I mean gosh, love doesn't have jinxes or what, if it's meant to be then so be it. Simple! (Hmm, innuendo! :P) So when I say there's nothing, I really mean it. So back to the guy, I was just thinking if things would be different had "somebody" not ruined it for us. I was back to reminiscing things and sadly, the answer is closer to a resounding NO. But then secretly I hope he remembers me at times. Asa! Haha! Cue in Jo Mari's "Is She Thinking About Me" song. LOL! Not that I'm not over him yet.

So last year huh? I just came to conclusion that I haven't been in a date "for a year?????" SERIOUSLY?? The thought is so preposterous I want to laugh.

Or cry at the same time. Hahaha!!! :D

Fame

You can tell how good the movie was based on the photo below:

(Cat,kailangan talaga nasa bewang? haha! :P)

Too many people ayt? Haha!! *Yawn* It was already half-way through and I was still waiting for the "kick" but nothing came. :( Good thing, the tickets were just freebies! Thanks Joysy! Yihee!! Haha!!

We'll just probably wait for this one. Woot!

(with Tiffany :)

Out Rob, In Taylor! Waaaah!!! Totally diggin'. :P He & Taylor Swift will make a really cute couple!! *Squeal* Hahaha!!!

I talk as though I've already read the series! LOL! Haven't even browsed through a single leaf of it! :P I don't know, I'm not into vampire books.

Had late dinner at Peri-Peri after. And hopefully another lunch will push through this week. So sad another typhoon is coming to the Phils. =(

It Started With The Hair

I just came across a photo of Taylor Momsen in one of the fashion sites I regularly check. I learned that she's sporting a new 'do for the new season of Gossip Girl (since haven't had time to catch the show at night and will just check probably when the whole season 3 is completed). I fell in love instantly with it and wished for my hair to grow longer immediately, curl it and leave it tousled like that.
And then I searched for more photos and my fashion antennae was twitched when I saw this pic in one of the thumbnails:
Boho chic!!! Aylavet!!!! :)

But then again upon further scrutiny, I noticed that it's not only the dress. You very well know what I'm talking about. It's her Steve Madden suede boots that I can ill-afford but luckily there's a local store that offers the same style.

I got mine in color Mocha. :P And this tells the story of how much I'm more than a thousand bucks poorer today. LOL!

Kevin ( a former colleague of mine from Intel) mentioned from a previous comment that he dreamt of me last week. Haha! Hey kev! Permission to post this story. :P

He said I was leading him into my house and when he entered a room, he said that it was a four-wall of my shoes, tightly packed and the door all of a sudden closed just when the walls started to squeeze him in. And when he was about to be squeezed one last time, he woke up.

Haha! Sorry Kev, I know it's a nightmare but it just sounds ridiculous. I mean, I don't think I can fill up four walls with my shoes?!?! Or maybe I can??? LOL! But I wonder why my shoes are mad at ya?? Must be some silly thoughts going on in your head when I invited you over! Hahahah!! No wonder my shoes were very protective of me! Ha! :P

P.S. I'm not a fan of Little J, I still want that hair (someday, someday) and I really want boho style to be in! Super comfy! That's all. :)

Cutest Kid Ever

Alright, since FB has become an extension of Youtube, I had no choice but to watch these re-posted vids of my contacts seen in my homepage. I don’t know until when this phenomenon is gonna last.

But the video that really made my very boring week was, drumroll please, Baby Luke. Haha! Ugh, don’t get me started how low I feel last week. I can’t explain how exactly I feel and the word HOLLOW is the nearest thing I can come up with. I'm not sure what causes it either but I’m positive that This too shall pass. That also explains the lackluster posts last week and I’m surprised even the sites I frequent have nil updates for the last days. Lazy blogging is in! Hahaha!

Anyway, moving on to Luke. I assume that most of you have seen his very cute attempt to sing the Filipino folk song Bahay Kubo (particularly my friends in FB). It’s just different with him enunciating the words kanyabacha (kalabasa – squash), tami (mani – peanut) and watani (patani – bean). Sooooo adorable and cute!

The blond hair, the red lips and blue eyes that light up with the high notes! Aaargh! He’s the squeeziest kid ever! Haha! He should star in that Goin’ Bulilit show, you know those kids that do gag stuffs. :P But then if I see him, I’m surely going to kidnap him! Hahaha!! My friends tell me to just have one of my own. LOLs!

I’ll never get tired of watching Luke when I’m down. He’s such a mood lifter. I was so embarrassed one time I was taking a break from working in a coffee shop and was watching Luke and had this feeling I was being watched. Thankfully, it’s just a girl. She’s probably seen the video too. :D

Kev, if you’ll have your baby make sure to teach him this Tagalog song, I bet he’s gonna be cute too. :P

P.S. Luke is soooooooo gonna be a heartbreaker when he grows up, noh? Haha!

@ Market with the Girls :)

Finally!!! Some "happening" for this week. Some sliver of happiness, a morsel of pleasure in my bland week. Haha! Really, the start of this week was plain B-O-R-I-N-G. I was kind of pushing for things to happen, like an effort of massage at Wensha last Monday. Special thanks to my brother for taking me out for the last two nights. Even window shopping before gym yesterday felt gloomy. Mind you, there were lots of shops on sale! Maybe it's because part of me feels guilty spending something when the country is still recovering from the disaster last week.

So came a brilliant plan. I proposed a lunch date with my gurlfriends at Market Market. :) The choice of venue was responsible either, Teriyaki Boy. After all, it's not the food but it's EB of Cathy & Angela. Many tales about both of them have been told to each other so it's high time to meet!! Hahaha!! Cathy is really the front-runner for Ms. Congeniality of the year. Hahaha!! I simply love this shot of mine thru Cathy's Iphone. :P

Hmmm. maaaaaaakkkkkkkiiiiii!!! hahaha
And I really missed my "Ate". Hehe. Anj. :)

Too bad, Cathy's not in black. But we girls of Samsung (I mean me before :P) didn't talk about it. Nevermind, everyone's pretty! :) A gaggle of gorgeous girls - that the waiter couldn't resist being requested to take shots for three different cameras taken at various angles with several combinations! LOL! Here's the best one for me. ;-)

Even with my new trick discovered (to use chopsticks in the teriyaki chicken rice that is, so tedious it will make you lose your appetite in the end - hahaha!!), I still felt sluggish from the massive lunch. But I enjoyed every second of it nonetheless. :D 'Til next time gurlies! :)

Lotsa 'Splainin :D

You thought I was in love?

LOL!

This early, I already wanna apologize for anyone who felt I violated their favorite classic song. So sorry, hahaha!!!

And since I was so bold putting that out, I might as well explain the whole thing. LOL! I was drunk! Nah, just had a frappe before that. (Excuses! LOL!) And I was just so set to try that recording function of the karaoke machine. :P You can just imagine the setting when I recorded that, most of our neighbors don't have electricity and there I was turning on the machine for them to hear. (Minsan gusto ko lang talagang mang-inggit! Salbahe! LOL!) But don’t I get credits for the moviemaker?? LOL! Back then I had problems. Imeem won’t work as embedding in a post, only as a widget so I had to find means to upload the song.

Aah, youtube. Then with a shudder yesterday I remembered how many people (who are actually not readers of my blog) are subscribed to my account because of the Princess Hours videos I made years ago. Apparently, they were so fond of them some even emailed me on how to do those. Yay! So a while ago I temporarily disabled the first video, recorded the same song again and here it is below in Imeem. LOL!

Actually if I was being vindictive, I’d like to lash out on that classmate of mine and tell him, “Ano kala mo ikaw lang makakagawa nyan?” Hahaha!! Did you know that until now he still hasn’t replied on my query?? UNTIL NOW! So I decided to just delete the comment with my praises. :P Too bad I still listen to his songs and he really has a good voice with that kulot thingy. Me even thinks that his recording means is better than mine. Damn! HOW?? Has he got a studio?? Haha!!

And now for the real reason. Oh gosh, wedding singer. How can I resist a friend?? (a) Tell her I blubber during wedding I might not finish a song at all? (b) Show to her the comments in my youtube account with violent comments? Not that there are any. Sigh. It would be really a good gift, considering she can pretty much have everything. So, have to practice. Thanks so much for the words of encouragement Kev. LOL!

And if you want my White Chicks rendition of "A Thousand Miles", you can click here. LOL!

Gosh, I'm no different to those media whores in youtube that I've come to disgust before. LOL!
