(my special edition for Women's Month - not for a guy ;)
It’s that time of the month where I don’t feel good about myself. Zits are all over my face, my paunch is at its flabbiest, my moves are somewhat limited, and my most hated is that I’m restricted to wearing certain clothes. After craving a week (or probably longer than that) before for different kinds of foods, here you are willing yourself to avoid anything too sweet, too cold or too sour. And if you insist, well, get ready to face another one of your D-day (can be referred also as dooms day) which we all know can already happen during the 1st day. You cry over something so shallow such as a happy bonding with a girlfriend in the mall or a puppy being sold at the streets. If it’s of any consolation, it’s also those times when you usually get a higher than normal number of hits from guys (bastards not included). Gurls, you very well know what I’m talking about.
During my “in a relationship” status, this period sometimes can also be known as one of the sweetest times of your life knowing full-well that bf is like a genie: “Your wish is my command.” Wehehe. I guess it’s also comparable to the gestation stage of married women. But, ok let me emphasize, BUT, should it come in those stages where you’re in those “rough times” of the relationship, it has got me cursing (sort of) how men can sometimes be such big jerks! Okay, take note of sometimes and surely I’m not generalizing.
When I was young, it has often got me wondering if women can ever be successful in what they do because of this thing. Sure it comes just once in a month but what if it’s in that crucial part of your career?? You may think questions like this are overrated but if you just know what happened the last time I was attacked by the Big D. I was alone in the mall; my whole body’s shaking due to pain and was almost about to pass out when I made it just in time to reach a waiting bench of Max’s restaurant. I slept there for about an hour and thankfully nothing bad happened.
There was also a period of time when I was in 3rd year high when I skipped on it for 7 long months. I was so happy I wasn’t telling my Mom about it. But when I learned about the repercussions, I got scared and promised I’ll be watchful next time.
Sometimes, it once crossed my mind to just have it permanently removed. And that said, yes, I once considered going under the knife. But then I realized it would be such a big offense or disrespect to the Creator’s masterpiece: my body. We all know how we all are wonderfully created by God. Besides, it would be considered a pure selfishness not to pass on these talents to my future offspring. Wahaha.
Now, I’m all grown up and I am surrounded by different successful women around me. It’s amazing how they made it through the years and I look up to them for inspiration. So here’s a salute to each and every one of us who continues to struggle amidst mood swings, dysmenorrhea, migraines, depression and everything. :) We'd rather bear all of them than not being a girl/lady/woman at all.
And for those guys who insisted on reading, I hope this paves the way for a better understanding of us women. Coz sometimes, we really are just going through a lot. ;)

KR Travelogue Day5a: Goodbye Gumi-Si
Nope. Na-ah. Not for today. Unlike the previous three days, I have no qualms or whatsoever on what I am wearing today. Today, actually, is the very much well-rehearsed ensemble of all. In fact, I’ve never looked so equestrienne-like in my life. And, I’m going to a kiddie park. Now if I could only find my horse. Bwahaha!! Ok, here’s a bit of an explanation as to what I am wearing.
Do you remember how I was told that I should wear flat boots so I can enter Everland? I followed it of course. Now the hat is something knitted so it could warm my head and stretchable so I can cover my ears should there be any pain due to cold. See? It’s dual-purposed: a hat and an earmuff! That was a great buy!! :) Although, so far I haven’t experienced something like that. Then I took on anything in my closet back at home that would match the two. I found this turtleneck long-sleeved blouse, my new black trench coat and my dark gray skinny jeans. After packing my stuffs, I went for another check in the mirror to admire that girl that’s staring back at me. Feeling rather smug, I pulled my suitcase and went out of my room.
But all that confidence and conviction vanished in a jiffy when I saw Chi Yan (China) in our floor dressed to the nines in her bright yellow puffy quilted skiing jacket matched with a skirt underneath those black stockings and pumps. Doubleyou-oh-doubleyou, WOW! I suddenly felt small!! With an air of concern, I approached her and asked if she has something flat to wear cascading to her Leon’s reminder on shoes. She told me that she’s not going to Everland but instead will be meeting her mother and go shopping. *sad*
Of course, the shoe replacement advice was in no way intruding her fashion sense or demoting her yet stylish status. Surely, if there’s anyone in the delegates that I’d like to bond more for today it would have to be them: Chinese girls. (If Samuel goes on with another group, that is!) Hahaha!! Which reminds me, Samuel!! I’ve got to hurry down. Yipee!!!
I stopped for a short while by that terrace like structure and breathed in that crisp morning air mixed with that beautiful smell which I learned last night is emanating from the men’s comfort room, haha!! Sigh. It’s time to say goodbye to you Gumi-Si and Best Western Hotel. It was a nice and memorable stay. :) I made my way down to the lobby, checked out and paid my due.
I passed by the dining area and felt that urge to have a quick breakfast when I heard my tummy rumble. But I noticed that no one’s about in the said area and most of the delegates are already on the bus. There’s actually still time but if I do, I can’t go back anymore in my room to do a quick toothbrush and re-touch. Fine, I’d rather preserve my make-up and bear my hunger thank you very much. :P Lawrence helped me get my suitcase in the luggage section of the bus.
Oh by the way, I forgot to tell you. Because I reckoned I can finally take on the weather, I decided to ditch my thermal wear for today. Come to think of it, I was able to put up with the cold in just a spaghetti strap and a trench coat last night. Besides, I deemed it would just make me look fat in my body hugging top and skinny jeans. Such a show-off!! Haha!! But in any case, I put it in my hold-all bag so I can easily access it should there be a need.
I climbed up the coach and made a surreptitious quick search for that striking-drop-dead-gorgeous-handsome-and-all-the-adjectives-I-can-think-of face among the crowd but there’s none. Nada. Of course, I’m not worrying. He’s gonna come of course, don’t be silly. Hasta Maňana, Espaňa Maňana, like Ronald said. And okay, I fibbed about last night. Of course it’s okay to be late in Everland for as long as we’re not leaving Samuel. Wahaha!! Haz como quieras.
I passed by Dien and Lawrence who I noticed are already seated together. Good! I can find a space of my own with a vacant seat next to it. Aaah, the thought that he might sit beside me just by any remote chance had thrilled me beyond measure. :) But surely if that has to happen then I have to know where he usually sits right? As there were more seats in the back, I positioned myself somewhere in the middle. It was quite frustrating that I only noticed him during dinner last night. But, there’s no point hanging on to that now. I consoled myself with the thought that I can still see him in this 4-hour long ride. I’ll be happy with that. Yes, we’ll be in the same bus for four solid hours. Some girls aren’t that lucky.
And surely there he is, in a red top emerging out of the revolving door, making me press my hand against the window with yearning as though he’s not gonna come inside. Haha!! In seconds, I can now see him from the door of the bus walking in the middle. And there I was in a panic not knowing what to do. Should I look at him, smile at him, say good morning? WHAT??? In the end, I just turned my face down pretending to fish something in my mini-bag knowing full well that my face has just instantly shifted fifteen shades to beet red and worst of all scuppering my chances of having him seated beside me atleast. I can only hear myself do a sing-song sigh of Don’t Know What To Do by Ric Segreto. Yay!
Okay, he passed by me. Then a horrendous thought gripped me. I remembered, Nilce (Brazil), is seated at the backmost. God, please don’t let him sit beside her or anywhere near her. I’ll die of jealousy. Hahaha!!
I got startled with a voice calling me. It was Jun Xiang (China) – for me the prettiest girl among the trainees – seated behind the coach across me.
“KC, I will take your picture.” She aimed her camera at me. I gave out a bashful smile and said thanks afterwards. Awww. She’s not only pretty, she’s also sweet. :) They like me. :) :) :) I feel buoyant with the fruit of all my gregariousness.
Although the slight turn gave me a chance to see the back, it wasn’t enough to have a full view. When at last I couldn’t take it anymore, I spoke to Ali who’s just behind me with anything gobbledygook so I can make a furtive glance on where he’s at. He’s behind Ali. 2 rows away from her – a very safe distance I may say. Phew!! After the arrival of the remaining delegates, off we leave Gumi and made our way to Everland. :)
Addendum: I also have something for today, a very cute accessory that’s very appropriate to where we are going. Borrowed from Tita Millet (Joy’s mom). I intended to pair it with a matching spotted earmuffs (very much like Jasmin in My Girl) but I haven’t got time to shop for the last days. Anyhoo, here it is. Isn’t it cute?? ;)

Wardrobe Update
Acknowledgements first above anything else, I'd like to thank my dear friend Sam for writing something about how I'm such a TH (trying hard) fashionista here. Hehe. Thanks Sam. :) As the title suggests, yes this is still part of the yes-I've-lots of clothes-I'm-going-to-be-a-wise-spender-this-year blah I mentioned last time. :) And to Wil again, don't ask me the WHY now as though spending too much is such a normal thing to do. Haha! Peace! :)
Break the Monotony
- This is inspired by VB aka Posh Spice. I once saw here sporting a black top, gray skirt and paired it with a red shoe (forgot the source though :C ). Although I don't like her that much. Imagine her saying she doesn't go to the gym coz she can't bring herself to wear flat shoes?? Duh??
- I love this dress to pieces. Yep, that's right. Terms such as those that is supposed to be address to men are now applicable to clothing. :P Remember this from way back in SG? Instead of the black skinny, I paired it with ankle-length stockings. :)
Color of the Year??
- What with the Edsa commemoration last Feb 25 and the NBN ZTE scandal, you would very well know what kind of reactions I gathered in the office, haha!! Cory, Edsa, Muse, everything! Muse?? Anyways, unlike the rest, I admit this is new. The dress is something both Joy and I bought 50% off the price in Vivo City on my last travel. Twins wear the same color right? ;) And the shoes, god! I so love VNC shoes in Malaysia, soooooo cheap. Please wait for my story on my latest trip. :)
That's just about it for now. Fyi, I'm unabashedly posting my outfits here. ;)

Memorial
One very important occasion in commemoration of Jesus’ death. This is with observance to his words found on Luke 22:19 “Keep doing this in remembrance of me.” Although already special on its own, it was also made extra special with the presence of my LTF (Long Term Friend) Mae who just arrived from Bahrain. Ű
Remember the dress? Twas my first time to use it, haha. Why do I keep imagining Ruffa G. in that dress whenever I browse through the photos ? No offense to her fans though, maybe it's just too flamboyant? :P
Reunited: Mae Ann & KC
Closer :)
Me and Michelle with the couple Vic and Mae
Mom, Tita and niece Gian
me and my kuya

KR Travelogue Day4f: Firsts
Thankfully though, the awful performance has ended and dance music was once more blasting through the speakers. In a heartbeat, the dancefloor was filled by the clubbers whom I noticed were still in their coats and jackets. Hmm, it’s not that cold anymore inside. Why not show off some skin?? Mr. Lee was already in the mood for shaking his grooves and when he stood up inviting everybody, we just stupidly stared at him. Haha!! But when he grabbed me by the arm, I had no choice but to give in. Aarrgh!
I positioned myself so that a huge bar is blocking their line of sight from me. It was quite embarrassing for them to see me dancing. Let’s not forget that these men are still my “professional” acquaintances. Hehehe. Once on the floor, I witnessed the power of drinking of the Koreans. I mean, it’s just around 10 PM and some men are already too much inebriated that’s enough for them to disturb a circle of girls dancing. When one of the girls got irritated, she went for an almighty push and the guy allowed himself to land to another group whom he can bother. I think I’m having a culture shock here. I mean, come on, that’s normal here? Why don’t they call the guards so the jerk can be dismissed right away? Soon, I found one man lasciviously groping a girl in her behind. Now it’s really getting freaky. I was afraid to be bumped by these clumsy bastards but somehow Mr. Lee was protective enough. Soon, we were joined by Alexy (Russia), Jakub (Poland) and Lawrence (Malaysia). Uhmm, how do I say this delicately but really, I got turned off by Lawrence’s move on the floor. It’s kind of old school, hehe. Bad!! But who am I to know if that’s what’s “in” in his country right? :P
Again, the dancing ended when it was time for another performer. This time it’s a sexy girl doing some sexy dance and it was time for my revenge to the guys. I was almost about to tease them but then I remembered, of course, this is just a normal show for them. And they’re Europeans to begin with. I suddenly felt like a loser! Hmmp!!
After viewing more performances, I’m feeling the teeniest weeniest ripple of interest. Seriously, what kind of club is this? They’ve shown different kinds of entertainment already. A girlband, a boyband, a macho dance, a slutty dance, a rockband!! I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s a circus show after! Haha!! When it’s time for the dancing again, no one from our table bothered to go back to the floor. But when I heard YMCA being played, I noticed Samuel nodding his head in sync with the sound. Ok, YMCA is kind of oldies and everything but still!!
“Hey, you should be on the floor dancing.” And there went my first few words to him.
“You coming?” He asked.
Oh. My. God!! I’m going to the floor with him!! Repeat. We’re going to the floor together!! As we inched the path that leads to the floor, I kind of wished the song be changed to a ballad so we can do a romantic dance. Yay! I couldn’t believe the places my mind was going. But when we we’re there, we were left hanging with the shift of music and just kind of stood there with the rest of the guys watching the crazy crowd. So I took advantage of my camera. Hihi.
Though we didn't talk much back in the table, it's okay. I reckon he’s the quiet type of guy. I know I’ve spoken with almost all of the delegates and drew some out but you see the approach is different for a crush. And this level of admiration is way beyond US and Poland. Indeed, a monstrous crush! Okay, the long and short of all these is this: I’m tameme when I’m with him. Hehehe. (Stumped ≈ tameme? Hardly enough.)
Also, he’s still texting someone. Darn! He’s also not that talking very much to the guys. I'm intrigued as to how Dien drew him out and made him speak about football. Still, I’m happy. We had our picture, we’re quite close now and tomorrow we can utter our his and hellos. Surely, this is just the start. :)
It’s past 12 and Mr. Lee was already raring to go but again, none of us wants to leave yet. Hehe. So Ronald entreated for some minutes more. Everyone can see the impatience in Mr. Lee’s face so when he stood up after 30 mins, we all followed suit.
I requested for a group photo outside the bar but there’s one Korean man in suit who looked drunk and approached us.
“I want a picture with the girl!”
Oh no. What does this man take me for? Just because I’m a girl alone with the guys in a club, does he think I’m a????? What the??????? I shot the men a pleading look and they all just smiled at me. How very supportive!! But the guy is now approaching and I can’t resist the situation, so I pulled Jakub to join us. :P
The guys hailed a cab and I was expecting for the same arrangement as before but to my surprise, Samuel didn’t join his first cabmates. Things happened so quickly and the next thing I remember, I was sandwiched between Lawrence and Samuel in the backseat. Aaaah, it feels so good to be near him. Ü♥Ü
Lawrence, being the usual friendly guy that he is, started talking to the driver. However, the driver started threatening about him being a member of the Mafia in the best way he could speak in English hehe. Of course he was just joking and I was ready to ride in this situation. I trained the camera at me put it in video mode and started recording.
“Mom, if you’re listening right now. We’re all here in this taxi……………” in my best over-acting dramedy performance to everybody’s merriment. Haha!! Gosh, I’ve never been that normal beside my crush.
“Hey, the guy you had a picture with is someone way up in Samsung. Like way way high.” Lawrence said as he inspected the calling card.
“Really? Oh I should’ve known. I could’ve been a bit nicer. Maybe he could promote me. Hahaha!” I replied, continuing on with my comedian act. I can feel him smiling beside me. :) Normally funny, that’s soooo not KC when beside her crush!!
“Yep. Maybe he’s seen you in the office and liked you.” Lawrence added. Ngek!
When we reached the hotel, we saw Ronald and the rest of the guys crossing the road for another round of drink. Samuel said he’s joining but Lawrence passed this time around which meant I should do too. He’s still my closest and trusted friend among the guys.
“Make sure you’re up early tomorrow guys! Else, I’ll kill you!” then I waved my goodbye. We can’t be late tomorrow for Everland. :)
It’s OK. I know I do have the chance tomorrow: the chance of being with him again. I just know. =) Pink-cheeked and glowing, I returned to my room. Not only that, I had the widest smile of my entire stay in Gumi before I slept. I can even feel me smiling while asleep. =)
I positioned myself so that a huge bar is blocking their line of sight from me. It was quite embarrassing for them to see me dancing. 1st position: Christian, Samuel and Jakub
our 1st pic togetherÜ: i don't know how we got close, haha!!
i swear he was so sweet in this picture, I might cry. really!!
as for this, i promise I asked everybody to join. :P

now you see the pashmina? haha.

KR Travelogue Day4e: A Night With The Boys
"Hasta Maňana, Espaňa Maňana” Ronald (Netherlands) is joking infront of us.
It’s 8:15 PM and we’re supposed to be collected 15 mins earlier. Now here we all are, chilling just outside the hotel’s lobby waiting for Massimo (Italy) and Samuel (Spain). A lot of the original attendees have already cancelled; Dien, for one, called me just before I left my room. Now here’s Christian (Norway) who has just emerged from the lobby with the news that Massimo’s too sleepy to drag his sorry butt down. Good! I’m not quite comfortable with him around especially with the scene earlier. Oh no, Samuel, where are you? Please, please come. Don’t be such a flake.
And faster than I could say ESP, there’s again the most drop-dead gorgeous man sauntering down the stairs, making my world stop and my heart beat fast. Even with the conversation going on around me, all I can hear are his footsteps from afar and its accompanying music. Like, like a groom waiting for his marching bride. Yay! Hahaha! For a moment, I was riveted to that oh-so-handsome face that I forgot to check how good he performs in the dressing department. Right, like it’s gonna matter at all.
Gosh, I am so doing a Manhattan once-over on him. Hmm, let’s see. I started studying his clean cut hair, thick eyebrows; beautiful eyes hidden under those spectacles, succulent lips then I saw something familiar. Screeeeeeeeeeecchh!! Eureka! Like an amnesia patient with returning memory, my mind flashed back on Day 1. Yes, I do remember him! He has just stood up and was introducing himself but instead of looking at him in the face, my attention was grabbed by this screaming pashmina he’s been wearing. That maroon and white striped neckwear that’s so typically used by any of the Caucasian race. I have to admit that during that time, it was hitting me as off. But now that he’s standing here infront of me with his brown leather pilot jacket, denim jeans and matching brown sneakers, hmm…looks like we've got our perfect guy here. The iris of my eyes must have shifted shape into something like this: ♥ :P
Well, since we touched something about dresses you might be intrigued as to what I am wearing. Fyi, I just changed my spaghetti top into something decent without the coat on. (Remember my recurring lesson?) Admittedly, I wasn't prepared for this. However, whatever that is lacking when it comes to dressing up or style, it was nevertheless compensated by the splashes of perfume. Wahaha!!
“Sorry, I’m late!” Was all he could muster. Really now, do you say sorry for making one’s night?? I was dying inside. :P
There were 3 cabs waiting for us, and Lawrence and I took the last one with Mr. Lee beside the driver. It’s okay not to be with him yet, the night is still young. And the purpose for now is to subtly finagle information on his status. That’s priority #1.
So I learned that the place is called downtown and when we get there I caught sight of a very familiar scene, something that resembled the lights and glitters of Ermita, Manila. Yay! I remembered the last time I went there; it was when some “claiming” director interviewed me for modeling. Hmm, intriguing huh? So okay, it’s not Embassy or Alchemy like back in the Philippines but what to expect? I’m in the province of Gumi-si.

the lights of downtown
Now here’s the thing. Before I went here, jetsetter Tytana shared some stories on some funny signage for directions she captured when she was in China. I resolved to do the same but then hardly did I find some. I’m talking about things like “After your first under-on, do riding with civility.” which just simply meant, be careful in the escalator or something to that effect. Funny right? But then after our conversation with Mr. Kim earlier, I can't explain but I just had so much respect for the Koreans now. I mean, yes we can speak English fluently but do we have something like what Samsung is to Koreans? Even so, I can’t resist taking picture of the name of the bar we went in. I don’t know but let’s just give them the benefit of the doubt, alright? :P
yup, it's not V
We went to the endmost point of the huge bar that’s on the right part of the stage and settled for that upholstered seat where Samuel first dived in. Now, I was standing on the edge of the table weighing my options whether to sit beside him or infront of him thinking that if it’s the former then I definitely deserve the Nobel Prize for chutzpah. I mulled it over for 2 ticks and thought, what the heck? These are all guys anyway! Happiness bubbled inside me the moment I was finally seated beside him. =) Imagine, there were just microns of air between us!!
But then again there were spoilers. It hasn’t been 5 seconds when somebody proposed to transfer to another seat because the 9 of us couldn’t fit in that table. You can just imagine how comically disappointed I was. I was whispering to my shoulder “Kainis! Katabi ko na eh, Alamo un?” just like how those comedians act infront of the camera. Man, this guy is driving me nuts!! Haha!!
We were the last to follow onto the new table so Samuel took the edge of the left table while I was on the edge of the other one (no choice, there’s no more space beside him, haha). We’re now separated by a narrow leeway. There he was, seated across me looking so unbearably appealling, naturally sexy and completely out of place. And there I was, enjoying the presence of an attractive guy next to me. He took out his phone and went texting. A horrible thought shot through me. Could he be texting a significant other????
My thoughts were distracted by a Korean sound coming from the stage. It was time for the first night performance and to my dismay; it’s some macho guy doing a sexy dance. Uuugh!! We started ordering our food and drinks and the guys kept on teasing me to turn around and face the stage. I acted like a child getting shocked on the scenario which is normal coz really I haven’t been into any kind of these shows before. Afraid as I was that this show would last on for the night, I was more petrified that Samuel hasn't put down his phone since. *sigh* Who could he be probably texting?

Live Loud: Eastwood to Emba
What I have learned from these product launches is this: An event is an event is an event. Simple. It’s meant to create a buzz and attract the press. It’s all glitterati and glamorous. Conclusion: you have to look your dang best! :P I mean, who knows where the pictures could come out right?? Not that there’s a hint of wanting to be discovered here alright? ;)
Live Loud is about the launch of our 3 music phones: SGH-F250, SGH-F330 and SGH-I450. And what better way to inaugurate it than to hold a concert in Eastwood featuring the 3 bands: Southborder, Brownman Revival and Parokya ni Edgar. The said concert last Friday is the kick-off party for concerts to be held nationwide which I’m praying I could be part of. :P
There are t-shirts to be worn for the said event. Please believe me that I didn’t, repeat, I didn’t mean to be different from the team. I already had my plan of prepping up the white shirt with a hat and my high-waisted wide-bottomed trouser. But then Lisa had all of a sudden veered with pushing through our supposed-to-be cancelled Emba and I was just boy-scout lucky to have brought an extra top. Come to think of it, I didn’t even have my matching black bangles and clutch. =P Most of all, I didn’t mean to arrive late so as to cause heads be turned during the 3rd band. My boss was just caught up with work and when we arrived they didn’t want to join me walking coz they thought others might think they’re my bodyguards. :(
Ok, time for the pics now: the phones

our hosts:
Luis and Andy
our ambassador:

Lisa and de Moi (with the hat that has almost got me making my first online purchase in Ebay)
Lisa has been Samsung-ized, haha!
As for Emba, I have to say it was so-so. Don't get me wrong here, I was delighted to catch pretty pretty Pau there. Sorry for the misoriented shot, hehe.
Chinitas, hehe
Could it be because someone is missing? :( He's in a gig in Quezon Av. Was it different without him??????
Nonetheless, LIVE LOUD!! The party must go on. Now that's a nice segue for our blurb. :P

KR Travelogue Day4d: It's All About Samuel
Oh. My. Gaaaaaaaaa. My jaw must have dropped to somewhere down my knees. Who is this guy? He could’ve just stepped out of a men’s catalogue. I kept my eyes peeled on him as he makes his way towards the European table. My eyes made a quick sweep on the table and by the method of elimination; I was able to recognize him. But of course!! Of course he’s Samuel “Parang Pilipino lang ah” Gonzalez I read from the list yesterday. Oh no! What have I been doing all this time flirting with US and Poland? Absolutely, they’re nothing compared to him. What has happened to my senses escaping this handsome guy? Handsome word seems hardly enough. Then with a sickening thud, I remember what date it is. As in, anong petsa na? It’s already the last day of the training and tomorrow at Everland is not a guarantee that we could still be together. I heaved out a massive sigh.
Shortly, Mr. Jung announced on the microphone that the session is over and we could already go back to the hotel if we want to. Oh, that’s it???? No more forced drinking and talent portion???????? For a moment I allowed myself to think back about the advices given to me like how to avoid the drink and the singing, could the guys back be just teasing me?? But then I have to set my priorities here alright?? There’s a gorgeous guy a table away from me and I don’t know how to get to him. When I saw the Europeans gather closely, an idea struck me.
“Ok you guys gather I’ll take a picture.” Ha!! The wonder of my camera! I was about to press the shutter when I made a big mistake of looking closely at my subject in the screen of my camera. I saw a megawatt smile that’s enough to melt any female’s hearts. I felt something struck my heart and it made me shrink back. Just when more and more delegates rush to the table, I gave up.
“Hey, I want to join too!” Mr. Lee volunteered to take the picture and I rushed towards Samuel’s side. Great KC!! Not at all obvious. Not at all. I took a closer look at him and my oh my!! He looks even more jaw-dropping up close. As in seriously achingly good looking. My admiration could’ve been photographed.
When the photo-ops ended, my tablemates already decided to call it a night. The China team (the most isolated group) already left even before the picture taking session began. I felt a slight twinge at the thought of leaving. Specially that the Europeans are still there in the hall. Samuel, most specially, I haven’t exchanged a word with him yet. =(
I left the room hoping to heavens that there will be a chance tomorrow. Meanwhile, Lawrence, Ali, Dien and I wandered on the ground floor and outside the building for some pictures and conversation. It’s been some 15 minutes that we’re lingering but there’s nary a sign of the Europeans passing. Not that I’m making it obvious to them that I’m waiting for someone neither did I keep on extending the conversation so we can stay. It’s cold for crying out loud! After each had their picture infront of the Samsung building, we hailed a chugging taxi and went back to the hotel.
5 mins later, our cab stopped infront of another in one in the hotel. To my overjoyed relief, it’s the Europeans. =) I hurriedly stepped down to see Samuel. Ű ♥Ű As I do so, I overheard Lawrence asking Esther and Nilce where they’re headed. The SA team is going out for an extended drinking. When we reached the lobby, Ronald was already making a poll on who’s going to come for a drink somewhere downtown. I saw Samuel nod and I prayed that the invitation be extended to us Asians. When Lawrence and Dien finally said okay and all eyes on me,
“All right I’m coming but I’m not drinking okay?” I wished with all of my soul that I didn’t say those words. They might think I’m such a party pooper. But somehow, none of that seems to matter anymore. All I know is that I’m going with Samuel!!! Woohooo!!! This is it!! A tailor-made opportunity to flirt. :P
Walking all the way up to the room with Lawrence and Dien, it was hard but I was able to conceal my glee. But once inside my room, all bets were off. I threw myself on the bed allowing myself to anticipate the night. :D But my happiness was short-lived as I got struck by another dilemma. Oh no, what am I going to wear?? I’ve been dressed for many eventualities and clubbing/bar-hopping is one of them. However, doing it abroad?? Nope, it wasn’t anticipated. =(
I heard a knock on the door. It was Dien. He’s gonna borrow my cam’s memory card to transfer pix to his laptop. I followed him to his room which is just next to mine so we can have a short chat. A little earlier, we talked about one of our co-trainees back in Singapore who just resigned and texted him. He was sad about it. A little later, our topic shifted to our respective lovelife. And then very shortly, I found myself confessing to him my admiration for Samuel. Gosh! This has been my struggle eversince. Whenever I have crushes, I can’t help keeping it to myself. I know there’s nothing wrong letting someone know you admire another person but somehow it felt wrong. Like a grade school feeling embarrassingly wrong. Although this time, I found it beneficial coz I learned that Samuel’s into football just like Dien. :) I remembered they were seatmates. Again, for the millionth time, I can’t for the life of me psych it out how I could’ve possibly missed this guy. My sharp eyes have failed me. I approached Dien in his table so many times you know??
When I went back to my room, I can’t help grinning from ear to ear. He’s sporty!!! He’s sporty!!! I’m saying as though I’ve just discovered a cure to a certain disease. Aaah, I love sporty men! The fact that I badly stink on it could possibly explain it. But it seems to me that I’m missing out on one vital information. I mean, ok, he’s handsome and he’s sporty. But the question is, IS HE STILL SINGLE???

see where's the head tilted to? hehehe
More and more cellphones were being handed for pictures and we moved to the South American table. I felt a strange hand on my shoulder and I turned to see it’s Massimo’s (Italy). It has got me slightly conscious but in spite of it I was able to beam confidently at the camera.

International Women's Month
Here's a salute to all the beautiful women who in one way or another touched my life. =)
Celebrate femininity, celebrate womanhood! :)
Back, back, back. I'm back. :D In lieu of this month's occasion, allow me to give you a piece of my mind on the recent controversy on Bb. Pilipinas. I was en route the time it was being telecast and after watching it yesterday via Youtube, I have to admit that yes, I'm ashamed of her. That's utterly mortifying for the Philippines. Anyways, let's give her 7 months to improve her speech. And if she can't make it, I hope she'll have enough time to accept my proposal. I'll lend her my brain so we can take home the crown. Wahaha!! Of course I'm just kidding. :D

Won't Go Home Without ADAM!!!
Marry me Adam. Please, I beg you.
I love the way you raise your right eyebrow, the way a part of your right biceps tick when you’re playing the guitar, the way you set yourself infront of the mic stand, the way you sway your hips, the way you put an affectation of pain, your Los Angeles tattoo below your right shoulder, your distinctive voice, EVERYTHING!!! I LOVE YOU ADAM LEVINE, BE MINE!!!
Marry me Adam. Please, I beg you. If I wasn’t joining the usual background cacophony, I was reciting those words to myself like a mantra.
For the benefit of my blogspot readers, yes! We’re in the patron seats and I so love my company for that. Thank you Samsung! :) Lisa and I was just a bar away from him. That gurl sure owes me a lot, haha!!
And here are some pics from the concert last night:

KR Travelogue Day4c: The Korean Toast
Right. My crushes. I’ve got to find a way. But how? I fumbled in my bag as tough searching for a clue when I got hold of my U700. Right. I took it out and on autopilot dialed Lawrence’s number but stopped midway as I remember he didn’t bring his phone today. Great, just great! I don’t have any other’s numbers nor their calling cards. Now what??
I allowed myself to meander for a short while along the corridors. I passed by the theater room, the library and then another room. Hang on a minute. I retraced my steps and found the HR room ajar. I peeked and I found most of the employees still in there. It’s gone 6 and they’re still toiling?? I questioned as though the scenario is different from the Philippine office. Anyways, working OT surely has got its advantages. They’re my last lifeline. I constructed in my head the most basic English words for explaining my predicament before I knocked.
“Haaaaaaaaaaiiiii!” with my I ending in my most dang confident wide-mouthed toothpaste commercial smile.
Ten minutes later, Mr Lee (one of the organizers) arrived with a look of relief on his face. After a minute of apologizing and explaining, I went back shortly to the HR room to say thank you to the guy who helped me and bowed down my head a bit as I say goodbye. Wait a sec, did I just imitate their manners? Hehe. That was cute. =)
Mr. Lee seemed to be in a hurry as we stepped outside the building. The dinner, I learned, is just in one of the recreational halls of Samsung. Right, so they all just walked. With my heels clicking on the pavement, Mr. Lee and I started to discuss some things about work. A closer look at him revealed that he will pass for any Korean drama supporting actor. ^^ He’s good looking. I can’t help but think that he has this resemblance to that of Julian’s uncle in My Girl. My desire to inquire if he knows the character is almost overpowering but then I remembered that it’s very hard to speak to him. I just kept it to myself.
A few more steps and I caught sight of a horrible view infront of me that made me clutch my bag in panic. It’s the scanning area. NO!!! No way!! I can’t let them confiscate my camera nor browse through it and delete the pictures. Just what will happen to my travelogue if there ain’t any pictures? I quickly explained to Mr. Lee my dilemma. He smiled at me and told me that we will pass by the guests area. Whew!! That was a close shave!
As we trudge up the stairs, I wonder how I will keep it cool with the others. Of course, I still felt wounded by the fact that they left without me. Lawrence, specially, my very loyal seatmate!!
When I opened the door, I was once again appalled by the arrangement of the tables. The tables were once again divided into continents. I can see that there’s a very long table in the backmost for the Korean honchos and some of the others are already in queue for the buffet style dining. I immediately made my way to the end of the line when Ms Sunmi advised me to leave my bag first on our table. Great! Now there’s just no way avoiding them. As I drop my bag to my seat,
“Where were you? We were looking for you.” Lawrence said.
“I was just in the toilet.” And you could’ve tried looking harder, I feel like adding.
With a skeptical look on his face, a realization dawned on me. Before he could suspect any further, I added “I changed my coat.”
Oh no. They couldn’t be possibly thinking of that way right? It’s embarrassing! I mean, I wasn’t that long to make them think that I made a dash for the loo to do number two, right? Was I? Nice rhyme by the way. Oh no! But if that’s the case, fine!! I’d rather them leaving me than emerging out with everybody waiting outside just for me and I in turn explaining it was for vanity reasons. Fine!!
“Okay. You may want to remove your coat and hung it in there.” Lawrence gestured to the cabinet adjacent to our table.
Removing my coat - the very thought, I shuddered. I was just wearing a spaghetti top with low neckline (emphasis on low).
“No, ‘s ok.” I almost want to cross my hands over my chest as I reply.
Recurring lesson: Trench coats are only meant to be worn outside. Make sure to have a decent cloth underneath. I’ll keep this in mind should there be next.
The buffet table is a sumptuous plethora of Western and Asian food. There’s my favorite seafoods. Yey! Inspite of my skimping for the last two days, I somehow managed to maintain a moderate mixture of food in my plate. It was all going well with nice conversation and Dien’s (Vietnam) unraveling his humorous side. But my stomach did a somersault when I saw the bloody Soju being distributed per table. This is it! This is really bloody is it!!
Everybody was startled when a voice was heard over a microphone. It was Mr. Jung. He informed us that they will demonstrate how to do a Korean toast. All of a sudden, Ms Sunmi plopped herself in one end of our table. She hurriedly poured water on a shotglass and went to the Korean table. Ha!! Have I got an ally here? I was so delighted. But when she came back, she filled a glass with beer, explained that she’ll prefer it than Soju and downed half of it in one swig. Wow!! That’s how women drink beer here??
Somehow I was convinced that I was in the correct table. The Indians reassured me that they’re not drinking for religious reasons. That’s right. We’re all in this together. It’s our toast now and my shotglass is already filled with water. But they’re tricky!! The VP is pouring the shotglass to each person so when it was my turn, I didn’t turn around to face him. How rude of me. But that’s my only option. I don’t know how many rounds this toast will be. So the Korean toast is something like the pourer mentioning some inspirational words and you’ll watch out for the last word which he will utter very strongly and you have to repeat it three times. I already forgot what was mentioned in our table but for the South American it was like “Para Mi, Para Mi, Para Mi”.
Mr. Lee sat in our table to share some friendly conversation and I learned a lot from him. For example, he explained the etymology of Samsung which we all knew beforehand meant 3 stars. Three is a lucky number for Koreans and he in turned asked per Asian country what’s theirs. Everybody gave their answer and explanation which made me nervous coz I can’t think of any. Believe me guys, I racked my brain but there’s really nothing I can think of. Is there such a thing for us? It was just a bit embarrassing coz somehow it might give them an idea that it’s the reason why Phils is not improving. Although I don't personally believe in luck.
He also showed us a picture of his sons and from there I learned that Koreans count their age starting from the day the baby was developed in the womb. So, it’s like a +1 for our normal count.
We touched also a topic on Korean toast and he explained that if the one pouring your wine is of higher rank or an elderly, you have to present your glass with both hands holding it as a sign of respect. The same applies if you’re the one pouring for him. Right! This just officially makes me double rude for not turning around and not presenting my glass.
The Europeans seemed to be enjoying the drinks the most. Koreans kept on coming to their table for the toast. I checked the girls and smiled at them gesticulating if they’re OK. So far all of them are okay. Some of the guys emerge to and fro from the door that’s next to the cabinet probably coming in and out from the comfort room. Maybe, I thought, they’re checking out the bowling hall below. Right, I haven’t checked it myself maybe I should go down before another round of toast comes. I was about to shot out of my chair but I was hampered by the sight that appeared from behind the door. My world stopped!
Into the room walks the most drop-dead gorgeous man I’ve ever clapped my eyes on.
