An Old Poem

I want to say something to you
It's been buggin' me for a night or two
I want to tell you how I feel
Though I know it would be useless if I reveal

I can't help feelin' like a fool
Whenever you're near and you're so cool
I can't find the right words to say
Would I just stay or would I go away

Still I have to let this out
You have an idea of what it is about
These few words are nothin' new
You've said it to someone else I knew

How lucky that girl must be
I just hope she's as pretty as me
How dyin' am I to tell you
Oh baby I want you..I love you!

Of Licensure and Of A Fruit :)

Felicitations to Dexter Allan Brazil for making it in the nursing licensure examination. God knows how he studied hard for it. Not to mention how he worried so much after forgetting to shade his questionnaire set during the first day. Well, I was troubled as well after coaching him so much a day before. (Come to think of it, I was so proud of having remembered him and offering tips being the veteran myself, nyahaha! I give full credit to my single hood for that. Ü)

“Dekkie, I’m so happy for you. You come home na and give us your treat alright? :D Miss yah!”

Now, on a completely unrelated matter. I’m obsessed with my current ringtone now. Haha! Yes, I’m shallow this way. :D

And to this I say, nobody does it better than my man himself, Mr. Edu Manzano! Bow! :)

The Shopaholic Series Book Report

Uhmm..when I said book report I hope you’re not expecting something with characters, abstract, plot and the likes. Hehe. So sorry to those who can’t relate but this is me when I’m keen on something. And tell me why I can’t be so eager about it when I’m truly, madly, deeply connected with the heroine of the Shopaholic series in the name of Becky Bloomwood: :D Want proofs? Read on….

#1 STUCK IN A BORING JOB

Becky and I were both initially stuck in a boring job. The only reason that kept us holding on is the dough we’re getting out of it. We both thought of leaving but like what she said: “The thought of no money is more scary than the thought of writing about depository trust companies for the rest of my life." Which, translated in my previous job, “The thought of no money is more scary than having 5 xRBs, 10 PTRs and 20 deliverables in Intel.” :D

#2 NO BOYFRIEND

Scene: After being fired from Ally Smith, she met Tom (a childhood friend who thinks she’s still hankering after him) shopping for his new girlfriend. After that, she felt how come she didn’t have a boyfriend to buy her stuffs in Tiffany’s. Well, not that I would want someone to buy me something but it touched a nerve when she said it’s still a boyfriend for you to phone up during work, use as an ammunition against creeps and the like. *sigh*

# 3 INVESTMENT

Noun: Property or another possession acquired for future financial return or benefit.

For Becky and KC’s definition:

The exact word to use for justifying an expensive, unnecessary item or a luxury during shopping. Enough said! * LOLS* [Proof]

#4 UNDERTRAVELLED

Scene: Becky meets Suze’s mom and helps her dress for the wedding. Caroline then tells her about the sentimental values of some things she got from traveling around the world and about having a Bolivian peasant as a best friend. That instance made her feel under traveled which I can say I can connect to. I mean, the amount of money I spent for shopping could’ve been used for some nice adventures within or out of the country.

#5 THE MANHATTAN ONCE-OVER

Simply defined as a swift, 3-second top-to-toe sweep costing your outfit to the nearest dollar. Though we both have this hobby of surreptitiously glancing on other person’s outfit, I totally adore Becky for being able to identify which each and every item came from. Coz mine is more of checking on the style but the fact that he can do it on men is really WOW!!

#6 SURVEYS

Same with her, I also love to look impressively always in the mirror especially when someone has just flattered what I’m wearing for a day. Secretly also, I imagine myself being spotted on the mall and being checked out but not for the brand of my clothing but more on the style labeled as best dressed or something like that. Hihi. Ssshhhhhhhhhhh!! Gosh! I’m such a hypocritical cow! =P

#7 THE RELIEF OF SHOPPING

If we were both asked, “How do you cope with stress?” (Like for example, the morning sickness during her pregnancy and mine on work) Our unequivocal answer to the question would be SHOPPING of course. Haha!! It’s a no-brainer dude. [Proof]

#8 EARRINGS

On an interview for Vogue, Becky made a quick recap of her outfit. Everything seems to be impressive (DVF, Prada, Topshop) except for one: the earrings. The bloody earrings. Haha! Because it wouldn’t be cool, she thought of telling them it’s vintage and not from her mom. And reading it was just like hitting me BULLS-EYE specially when I was writing this post! We’re so thinking alike! Haha!!

#9 PAPARAZZI

Ok. This have to be admitted albeit embarrassing that like how Becky chased after the models in the birth center just to be caught by the paparazzi is let’s just say a hidden agenda of mine during our events. Can you blame me? Come on, who knows where could those pics come out? ;)

#10 ORANGE TOP

And lastly, this just has to be included to make myself clear. Just because we’re self-confessed shopaholics doesn’t mean that we always look impressive. For instance, the scene where Becky had Luke followed and found out her suspicions were wrong and in a funny way connected it to the wrong Orange top she got from Ebay means that not everyone should set high expectations on us. Come on, we’re not models dressed up by designers. Ok Anonymous? [Proof]

Oh Rebecca Brandon nee Bloomwood, why did I ever meet you? Look at what you have made of me in Singapore:

The ultimate proof! Need I say more? ;)

I'm Back!

Hmm…it’s nice to be dislodged from the cyber world for some time. Allows you to live and breathe the real world that’s infront of you. At this point, I do admit that I’ve been a victim of blog addiction. That’s why I have my out-of-the country training to thank for! :)

Oh yeah, my SG experience. I’m sure many of you are anticipating my posts (well, at least my friends are ;). But every time I think about it the first question that pops is, “How exactly do I begin?” Must I subdivide it by day, by personal or business? I really don’t know how. I really do want to make a special account of it but like what Tisha (a blog friend) experienced, no words can exactly match that wonderful experience I had.

And as you all know, writing is about letting those creative juices mold into a coherent pattern. So in the mean time, allow me to just bask on the afterglow of it, just me and my private memory. :P And as for you dear readers, please help yourself on the pictures available in my multiply account (not to mention my back-up posts that will be shortly available :P). Don’t worry I’ll keep you all posted. :)

Ramblings Before Departure

Please be informed that I will be on business trip starting August 14 until August 20. Expect delay in responses. Wait a sec, sounds too businessy...Rewind.

Hi Friends! Silently I prayed for this and the time has come! Ü I will be on a temporary blog hiatus (for a week only, hehe). And being the blogaholic that I am, I made sure to leave something for you to be busy on while I am away (sort of an assignment, hehe): My Johari Window. The result below captured responses from my Intel fellas back then. Now I'm reaching out to you my readers and kindly assess my personality. Click on link below:

The Johari Window was invented by Joseph Luft and Harrington Ingham in the 1950s as a model for mapping personality awareness. By describing yourself from a fixed list of adjectives, then asking your friends and colleagues to describe you from the same list, a grid of overlap and difference can be built up.
You can
get your own Johari Window, or contribute to kristina cassandra's.

Meanwhile, care to see what's on my suitcase? Check this out: SILKS!! Ha ha!

My SG Fashion Statement

I didn't realize that I loaded up on 'em this year. So why not make it my fashion statement in SG? Haha!! They're perfect with or without skinny jeans PLUS!!!! they take up less space in my suitcase. ^_^ FAB!! Some of them already worn below.

Next, I don't think I can make anymore a separate entity for this. So I'll just share a photo of my so-called "farewell" party with my Intel Supah Friends: Myk and Lisa last Friday. (Sans Xtian again, he'll make up dw on my return, hmph!). We hopped from MOA to Greenbelt and finally to my home The Fort where we met a lot of beautiful people (courtesy of mah brotha) ű. This one's taken @ the dancefloor of Prince of Jaipur.

and that one on my nose this time is a big zit..Grrr!!

Lastly, I would like to greet my Mama and Papa a Happy 28th year anniversary. I wasn't able to take some pics during the dinner so I'll just share what I wore yesterday:

i look so sphisticated man as if I'm the one celebrating, haha!!

Ok, now back to the top. Don't forget my Johari Window. Here's the URL again: http://kevan.org/johari?view=kristina%20cassandra

I'll miss you guys. Bon voyage to me. :D

Toni and Paul Blah!

I used to like Toni Gonzaga but later on she became very boring to me because I think she’s not improving on her craft. She’s not even good in English. I also don’t like the fact that ABS is continuously giving her a lot of projects. What about the other talents? I think it’s a tad unfair that just because PBB is over she’ll have another show which is about showbiz gossips. And lately, the ultimate reason to envy her:

Gosh! I can spend a good deal of time oogling on how cute this guy is. Haha! Some girls can just have everything, can they? I was curious as to how good this director is but I’m not impressed when I watched the music video this morning. I can also spend a good deal of time sourgraping on them but I think it’s a bit churlish to do so. So I’m focusing on the positive thing: that their situation has once again defied this theory I have when it comes to love and relationship.

C α ____1_____
L

Career is inversely proportional to love or relationship

Engineers, go figure! Haha! Don’t get me wrong. Though I’m surrounded by friends with high-flying careers and successful relationship, I think it’s still different if you’ve proven it yourself. Right? Toni always says that Direk Paul is an answered prayer. And just like what Mariel said on a show, I think I'll have to pray more fervently. Bwahaha!!!

Loyalty

Copying Bea's line (and modifying it a bit): "Ang loyalty hindi yan ini-impose, ini-earn yan!"

Which is true, based on what I experienced recently.

There was this one drinking bout with my friends when Xtian told us that his father (who works as VP for San Miguel) admonishes them whenever they're patronizing a drink that is not a product of the said company. I, being a liberal thinker, thought that it's a bit over-acting. I mean, hello? What about variety?

A little history: When I started here at Samsung, I'm using my hot pink Motorola V3X which is just about 2-months old. I know my job will involve testing of mobile phones but I didn't really envisage myself ditching my űber-chic unit just to please the bosses here. Never! In fact, when I saw a Nokia N93 here in our locker I got all excited and thought of bringing it home and use it on a weekend. I mean, it's an N93 for cryin' out loud! Who wouldn't want to use it? Same thing with the O2 here used for comparison purposes.

Days passed by, I observed that everybody here are using Samsung service units and I manage to hide my V3x whenever the higher bosses would come and visit our testing room. There were already the quips from managers here about using my phone and will slightly give a tsk! tsk! (with heads in disbelief) during times that I neglected it out in the open.

As different SLIM phones pass by my hand each day, I find it hard to use my Hellomoto phone. It's no question that it's eye-catching and stylish in appearance but I have to admit it, it clearly lacks a bit in the ergonomics department. Until finally, I found the service unit that finally moved me to leave it at home (ok, I still carried it for some days): my űber-dependable D900i. A 3-MP slide-up with FM radio and mirror-like finish. Very businessy type I know but it was solely responsible for the scenic shots during our stay in Puerto Galera. (see related article for photos)

Lately, more and more models came in that just simply made me ooh and ahh at each slimness albeit complete features until I just found myself bringing home a minimum of 3 mobile phones a day (oops, no tipping for the bad guys ;) and sometimes up to 6 when I'm going out with my friends. =P Here are my personal faves and how do I model them.

a. I600 "Ultra Messaging"

Why I love it?
Function wise: Synchs my MS Outlook to check on my mail often. Saves my documents so you can view wherever you want.
Fashion-wise: Just gives me this top executive look when matched with a bordered eyeglasses. :P

b. F300 "Ultra Music"

Why I love it? Who doesn't love Beyonce??????

c. F500 "Ultra Video"

SGH-F500

Why I love it? Well, I just watched Die Hard 4.0 on that phone. =P

d. U100 (World's slimmest)

SGH-U100

Why I love it? I can just flash it with an air as if saying "Move over, I have the world's slimmest phone here."
e. U300

Why I love it? You just won't simply won't believe the sound it actually produces on that slimness.

f. U600

Why I love it? Love the namecard recogniton. Simply get a picture of the calling card of your business contact and save it in your phonebook. ;)

g. P930

DVB-H capable P930
Why I love it? Let's me watch my Meteor Garden rewind even in the testing room. Haha!!

Those are our current flagship phones as of this quarter. :P I think this is better PR than any of the marketing has ever done. Haha!! I should get a reward for this aside from the TV, hihi. Anyways,

Heard it from a loyal Samsung-errr!! :D

**features are hyperlinked on the names of the phone below the pix
** watch out for the spoof version of this article, haha!!
