The Black and White Saga - Edited

(imagine reading the fashion section of any girl magazine ;)

I love pairing these timeless hues. You'll absolutely never go wrong with them. Plus, it gives you that professional and elegant look in a corporate world. There were times in the office when I will just wear these two for a whole week. In that way I get to bring lesser things to and fro the boarding house (like only one bag and shoes and sometimes accessories also for all :)

Here's a list of my best get-ups (well at least for me)..and a short comment below on them. Maybe you'll appreciate it more if worn by a mannequin but sorry 'coz she's out of shape right now. Ha, ha, ha!!

1. Sophisticated Monday - Best to start off the week (specially with a lot of meetings and presentations for the day).
2. Sexy Tuesday - Corset makes you feel sexy. I remember when I first wore it at work, Myk asked me "Kmusta nman ang corset?" and to that I replied " The corset is fine but the tummy is not!" Then with a big laugh. Harhar! You''ll love the shape that black thing is giving you, promise!

3. Boyish Wednesday - Aaah! Gotta love this 'boy meets world' effect of the suspenders. Have to pair it up with a newsboy cap or a beret and bordered eyeglasses to give that nerdy feel. Tucking the top in gives you that figure that is so worth a second-glance for the guys..;) I think it's also applicable for a date after work. (Of course, us girls need some time off, ayt?)

4. Femme Thursday - Honestly, haven't tried it. I know it will look better had I been a li'l bit slimmer. So gotta work on it right now. I would just like to mention that oh-so-girly frilly polo from Maldita, I got it 70% off. :)
5. Lunatic Friday - Perfect to end the week since you can only just remove the cardigan and you're off for the night. Nice!
6. Spare # 1 - Basically a derivation of the Monday outfit. But the main feature is the sexyback since the vest is held by tying up its ends. (Geese, forgot to take photos)..Hehe

7. Spare # 2 - A nice doll-top and figure given by the wide belt and match it with white pedals. Chic indeed!
8. Accessories - The bag and shoes I just carry when I wear them. Bonus, a photo with Monday outfit worn. It was during the Guess pictorials with bessy Joy. :)
I know not everybody may consider me a fashion guru. Anyhoo, here's a tip for those getting prepared for entering the real world: a white long-sleeved polo and a black slacks are definitely wardrobe staples. ;)

So there you have it. A week long saga of classic colors. Thanks btw to Mango, Victoria's Secret and The Devil Wears Prada for some inspiration. Hehe.

A Self-confessed VS Copycat ;)
Sidenote: Did I just mention corporate? Oh well, I'm working for a manufacturing company here in Cavite. =P

My Eyes Adored You

(haaayy..one of those kakakilig songs..mp3.mp3 puh-leaze ;)

My eyes adored you
Though I never laid a hand on you
My eyes adored you
Like a million miles away from me
You couldn't see how I adored you
So close, so close and yet so far

Carried your books from school
Playin' "make believe you're married to me"
You were fifth-grade, I was sixth
When we came to be
Walkin' home every day
Over Barnegat Bridge and Bay
'Til we grew into me and you
Went our separate ways

My eyes adored you
Though I never laid a hand on you
My eyes adored you
Like a million miles away from me
You couldn't see how I adored you
So close, so close and yet so far

Headed for city lights
Climbed the ladder up to fortune and fame
I worked my fingers to the bone
made myself a name
Funny I seemed to find
That no matter how the years unwind
Still I reminisce 'bout the girl I miss
And the love I left behind

Repeat Chorus

What a Week That Was!!

Last week was a BLAST!! Not really last week, ww6.6 to ww7.6 to be specific (oops, Intel jargon there ;). It kicked-off with the Hot Air Balloon Fiesta @ Pampanga & a couple of night-outs and new experiences for me. Here’s a rundown of the events: (Caveat: you may find it too long =P)

Feb. 10 Hot Air Balloon Fiesta @ Clark Pampanga with the Burn-In folks

The website promised a lot of activities for the said day. However at 9 AM, we already found ourselves too exhausted to stay anymore in the field because of the scorching heat. The call time was too early; it’s 3 AM in Lisa’s house so I had to sleepover. We arrived late for the Hot Air Balloon ride (talking ‘bout some peeps’ tardiness) but it’s just ok. He treated us @ lunch in Max’s @ SM Clark anyways (it was Myk and Xtian’s boss;). Of course, none of us got a ride in the balloon (the ride is worth 150 USD and with reservations!) but that Xtian ditched us while we were busy picture-taking and got a short free lift in the PLDT balloon. Darn! There were some exhibits and flight displays. We also took the opportunity to visit Puregold Duty Free and to my dismay, I found nothing. I mean, the only difference there is that the prices are in USD (a li’l bit cheaper maybe) but all the rest you’ll see in an ordinary supermarket. Besides, the place is not good. It almost looked like forsaken. So in between we were at SM Clark where Lisa and I did the shopping. :) (Not to mention I was catching some zzz's during transits. ) What I also enjoyed the most in the program is the hot air balloon night glow. See slideshow below.

Feb. 11 Dinner Hosted by Family

There’s really nothing much in here because my invited folks from Laguna can’t come. We have a visiting overseer in the congregation and we hosted a dinner in our rooftop. Mom asked for catering services to make food preparations easier. What I’m anticipating the most is the videoke part which unfortunately, I wasn’t able to do because my uncle prepared some programs for the night. *boo hoo*

Feb. 12 Greenhills Tiangge

On Leave. Visited Greenhills and haggled for a bag in which after given in its lowest price ever, I decided not to buy anymore. =P Prices here are way up higher than in Divi. Hey, you can’t fool this certified shopaholic! Ha, ha! However, I can’t blame them. We once had a stall there sometime December 1998 and the rent is too costly.

Feb. 13 Eastwood

Since I was on leave the other day, I didn’t know Xtian has a counterpart from Intel Chandler visiting for work and that there is an agenda for the night. It’s a good thing I came prepared. See, it sometimes pays to be dressed up even for an ordinary day @ work. Ha, ha! Bimal is an Indian who grew up in the States. Well I’m glad it’s that way ‘coz he’s so outgoing and a really good company. So off we went to Eastwood after work and man! the uber cute guys are all there, left and right. ;) He was surprised to see Hookah here in the Phils so we entered the bar and he made us try the specialty, hookah! He said it’s “in” in India. I’m not sure if it will qualify as a cigarette but in the bottom of the thingy is flavored water. So you’ll sip in the tube then blow as if you’re smoking. ‘twas a different experience for us all. He told us that usually they put nicotine into it but ours was just an ordinary one since he knows most of us are non-smokers. I think it was already past 10 when we left and Xtian drove me ‘til Blue Wave where I can get a cab home. I love it when he does this drag-racing thingy in his car! The sound of the motor plus the bouncy and clubby music pumping out of the car's stereo, aaahhh! so reminds me of the Tokyo Drift! Hehe! Lisa and I even requested for him to invite us if he will have another competition. I am so looking forward. :)

Feb 14. V Day

This day could’ve been less ordinary had I sang with the acoustics performer in our cafeteria. What can I do? I have less friends watching (Lisa’s on leave) which means less support from them if ever I’ll be performing. Anyway, I’m surprised Mike volunteered to sing after we’re done eating and Rina joined him to do the percussion. Myk said I’ll sing next. So just when I’ve mustered enough courage to go up and sing, the band declared that their next will already be the last song. =( In my desperation, I texted my friend Kuya Choi who’ll be performing in McDo Cabuyao if I can drop by and just sing some songs on their gig that night. He said the sked was moved to the 16th. Arrgh! You see, I’m such a sucker for the microphone. A mic hog! Ha, ha!! So boring that day until I saw some beautiful flowers left in my cubicle,

Ha, ha! Gotcha! ‘Twasn’t mine. It was Fely’s. Aaaaww, Iceal is sooooooooooooo sweet. I hope they’ll last forever. =)

Feb 15. Good News on a Thursday

I received a text from my bro Lem that after his Chowking commercial, he is now the new endorser of Doublemint Bubblegum and will star a billboard for ABE. I’m so happy with the things going on for him. :) Hy, I can’t stop mentioning about him here.

Feb 16. RX Single’s Party @ Greenbelt3

The original plan was to go to Prince of Jaipur @ The Fort. But while on the car, Myk suggested to go to the said event. Why not? It’s free anyways. We dropped by first @ the Manila Peninsula where Bimal is staying for preparations. (So classy!). Afterwards, we decided to eat first @ CPK since the party’s still @ 10 PM. The party is color-coded so you’ll have to wear a baller-id with colors to choose from and a glowing bracelet (with colors too) upon registration. There were no more black baller which means straight so we had to choose gray for (doesn’t want to tell or undecided). Yikes! For the glow-in-the-dark bracelet, they also ran out of red for single. I already wore the pink one (w/c means virgin) along with my baller–id when I found Lisa, Myk, Xtian and Bimal all wearing yellow (it’s complicated). Since I don’t wanna be different and afraid that I might meet some bastards during the night ya know, I decided to change color. Ha, ha! The place is pretty crowded with a lot of I believe college students since I too am an avid RX listener during my school days.
On the way to greenbelt

@ Manila Pen w/ Lisa

I didn’t see any cute guys inside Bed Space so I was just dancing the usual and not making any of these eye contacts Lisa taught me when we were @ Embassy. There was this guy who keeps on dancing next to me but I’m not even looking at him ‘coz he’s too young and he’s not my type. Haha! =D Anyways, when I decided to see Rico Robles (he’s fat btw) I already headed outside the bar since I can’t breathe anymore inside. Besides, everyone else has an agenda except for me and I don’t have plans of hooking up with someone else. Shortly, Myk joined me outside and we were having fun commenting on everybody’s outfits specially those who are coming from their prom nights with their gowns on. Ha, ha! I’m really sleepy na so we decided to take a coffee @ Starbucks. Later, Xtian and Lisa in their tipsy form appeared and ordered coffee. I was enjoying Xtian’s XDA when Lisa said she’ll be introducing the friend of the guy he danced with while I was out. She thought I might find him cute. So they came and Lisa’s right (gurl, you really know my taste ;) but I just faced him casually. Meaning, I thought it will end just like that. It’s about 3 AM when the group finally decided to call it a night and decided to crash Bimal’s room @ the Manila Pen. How about that? ;) Overall, it was a happy night. I’m glad Bimal enjoyed it and me too ‘coz I’m with my payday-tagaytay-tambays friends. Bimal is leaving Friday next week and I’m excited ‘coz there are still agenda Xtian prepared on a day-by-day basis. :)

Btw, the friend of the guy Lisa danced with asked for my number. Uyyyyyyy, someone’s got a new textmate. :)
& I am so not mentioning his name noh? Ha, ha!

Feb 17 Solo Concert @ Home

Yeah! The videoke is still set-up in our living room. After arriving at 9 AM from Manila Pen, I decided to do my concert from 9 ‘til 2. Ha, ha! I don’t care if the neighbors are still sleeping, I just wanna SING my heart out of happiness! Haha!! This is the time to apply all the things I learned from watching PDA. Hehehe!! Plus, I found some new songs which I would like to include in my future solo album. LOLS……….. =))

HAPPY!! =)

The Playwright

Can you guys guess from what local scene this line is?

"Puro ka lang naman ganyan. Paawa effect. Kung gusto mo ibalik ang friendship natin, gumawa ka ng move. Kaso, di ko nakikitang gusto mong mangyari yun. Never did I see you feel sorry for what happened to us. You know why? Because all this time you never grieved with me. You're just too busy making yourself happy."

I bet you'll never know. Because, it's a result of one of my err, ka-dramahans in life. Mind you, there are a lot of those and this one just popped out recently.

I think I'm already over-dosed on watching soaps. =} Maybe, I was just lonely being dateless this Valentine's. =P

Or maybe, just maybe, I was really born with that talent on writing. =D Whatchu guys think? ;)

When My Last Teardrops Fell

It's been a long time since I last shed tears over a song. For nights now, I've been listening to mushy songs on the radio to lull me to sleep & sometimes being the drama queen I am, tried to make tears fall but my eyes just can't. So I guess it's a sign that I'm perfectly okay now. =>

But as for this one, I can't explain. For the longest time I'm hearing it, I'm only focused on the line "There's no easy way to break somebody's heart." I guess I just never realized that this was the content of the lyrics and that there's a woman being referred to in here that is definitely worth admiring.

I held her close to me
'Cause I know she breaks so easily
And then I told her
But I knew no matter how I tried to console her
She'd just do the best she could
But there are times the best is no damn good
And no matter how you try to be kind
There's always still a part of you you leave behind
When it falls apart
There's no easy way to break somebody's heart

I lied and told her she'd be fine
Though we both knew it was just a line
I had to do it
'Cause I'd said anything to help me get through it
Then she reached out for my hand
And her simple touch was more than I could stand
And I had to turn away
'Cause I knew all the hurt
That she was feeling I was feeling too
'Cause when it falls apart
There's no easy way to break somebody's heart

She could've gotten angry
And made me feel like a guilty child
But I realized that never was her style
I wanted her to hurt me
And not treat me like a friend
I wanted her to say there'd be someday
I'd come crawling on my knees to ask her back again
But she acted like a lady 'til the end
Oh, what a lady

I thought that she'd break down
But she smiled at me and never made a sound
And I guess she understood in her way
'Cause her silence told me everything she could not say
When it falls apart
There's just no easy way
There's just no easy way
There's no easy way to break somebody's heart.

Last Weekend: Shopping & Cleaning

I was thinking of something unusual to happen last weekend. There aren’t any plans (most of the time there really isn't any) so I just went out Saturday afternoon to check out what’s new on the malls. True enough, I was able to buy this doll top I really want (last time I went there are no stocks for my size). I was delighted to see a lot of beautiful dresses in my fave shopping outlets (Petit Monde and A&E). The latter even has this nice dress Scarlet Johansson once wore in a red carpet! =D I saw also a lot of satins (not quite sure if they’re the trend now but I like best the one in PM which I saw Anne wore in ASAP). And now, I’m torn as to which of the two I should choose. (Hy nku, Anne n nman). Hihi!

Sunday morning waking up late and missing on a supposed to be regular church activity. I was already headed up stairs back to my room after having breakfast when I saw Mama dusting out the furniture, a task assigned to me way back high school and college.** Ashamed to myself for not helping her out (specially now that we don’t have a househelp anymore), I looked around to search for an area to work on and voila! I found the hallway! Seeing how dirty it was, I felt it’s high time that I start contributing little tasks per week on housecleaning (area by area since I don’t have a lot of time). Besides, I'm the only person in the house who has the heart to do that. ;)

I started off with cleaning the mirror and different memories came to mind while doing the job. I take pride in applying how Mom taught me the proper way to clean it. Way back 2nd year HS we had this contest for the cleanest room. We did not win (which was expected as star section but the room’s not good in the 1st place) but the judges commended on how clear the mirrors are, which is of course my work! :)

Next, I scrubbed the wall with detergent and remembered how my neighbors praise me on how meticulous I am when it comes to cleaning (considering I'm the child of the owner and we have a maid). That's how I like the task and I even said before that I’d rather clean the whole house than cook. =P In order, I'd rather: decorate the house, wash my clothes, iron my clothes, wash the dishes and clean the house.

I proceeded to scrubbing the floor. I put on HCL (aka Zonrox) to the detergent to brighten it. (Yeah, my scrubbing effort is not really enough). That’s how hard the floor is to clean. I must suggest that the crazy cut tiles must already be replaced with those white square tiles for easier cleaning. Again, I recalled before how I got my desired Baby G watch in exchange of scrubbing the entire ground floor area. How I wish I can trade a new car now for doing the same. Ha, ha!

It took about 2.5 hrs for me to finish the entire hallway (that’s just around 5-8 steps from the door!). Looking at my work, it’s a good feeling seeing how hygienic the area looked. The accomplishment is so fulfilling that I even thought I was happier doing it rather than buying the dress I like. (Oh, come on! :))

So I pledged to myself, for weekends without anything to do why not just stay at home and do the cleaning. Ooooh, I’m such a good daughter! Lols..

**Kuya was assigned on the 2nd floor, me on the ground.

Missing the Pyro Olympics

I really wanna watch and see those amazing display of bright lights in the sky. But sad to say, I missed it. On the last night of the show, I was up there in our rooftop watching it from very very very far. Without the crowd, without the music. :( ( in fairness i got to see a video clip of Germany via my friend's phone)

I'm actually feeling guilty because for a while I blamed my friends for missing it. I thought they were so inconsiderate for not inviting me or the group and going out on their own. That's how frustrated I was. (Guys, sorry nah temporarily lng nman ;). But being a rational person, I know I had to battle that thought. They don't have any obligation to me and I know I'll do the same thing if I'm in their stead. With that, I felt like being a loser for missing out on a lot of good things in life and reasoning to myself that I only want to share those moments with that special someone.(Oh, what a lousy excuse!) Movies, concerts, special places, etc. I mean there are available persons to go out with me on those but I just refuse because I don't like their company. My bad!

And so as not to feel that way again, I started making a list of must-happens and activities for me. I know I can make it by just planning it out properly and simply be happy or make it special with whoever fellas I'm gonna spend them with. Or maybe for some time, try doing it if I can on my own. Just please don't make me watch movies alone coz I really can't handle it. ;) I actually populated my planner with special happenings per month. I also updated my wishlist to keep me focused on the things I want to achieve in life and have them posted in a special place here (right side) for tracking purposes. It's just all about making it happen. Aja!**

Rest assured that my blog and my readers will never miss any moment on those special events. :)

So my next stop is on Feb 10 for the Hot Air Balloon Fiesta @ Clark Airfield Pampanga. :) Guess who I'm with? It's the Burn-In group from Test Engineering (so far from my group which is Assembly ;). I'm so excited nah..
** I really have to make them happen 'coz I have this feeling I won't find him anymore. =(
